With the tow ball permanently fixed to the shank, the ball can never come loose and can never be stolen, making the Euro Mount ball mount very secure. The unique European design was created for the U.S. market, combining form, function and aesthetics. CURT Euro Mounts come with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" shank and can tow up to 3,500 lbs. of gross trailer weight and 350 lbs. of tongue weight, making them the perfect choice for all light-duty towing. They are ideal for towing basic utility trailers, small boat trailers and canoe haulers, popup campers and small recreational vehicle trailers for dirt bikes and smaller ATVs (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). This class two hitch is solid. The draw bar is a solid piece drilled out for the pin, so not a chance of bending or rusting. powder coat is great. I would recommend a light oil on the ball itself. Don't forget to order a hitch pin as it does not include one.

I highly recommend this hitch if you want to keep the clean look of your ride while having a strong hitch to pull your trailers.I did add an anti-rattle device to keep it quiet and more solid feeling.The hitch doesn't have the pointy edges like a standard ball so I leave it on the car and don't hit my shins when I go in the trunk. I also have the 2" ball version for more flexibility in trailers.

The only reason I bought this design was because I didn't watch a hitch mount that would be unsightly on a car that's taken to car shows. This fits the bill nicely. To date, it's lasted me 11 years and still appears to be holding up nicely, albeit it could use some cleaning.There really isn't any rust that I can see coming from the mount itself. The ball does show some wear, but I'd venture to say a normal amount of wear for 11 years. The main thing I remember saying to myself 11 years ago when I bought this was it was a bit pricey compared to other hitch mounts. But, given its minimalistic design compared to others that are cheaper but HUGE, the cleaner look felt worth it to me.

this is a nice hitch add-on for any European car. It has a 350 lbs tongue weight. which is more than what the tongue weight of most class I hitches are anyway
