I had to offset by 1 inch left and drill another hole in the aluminum mounting plate of my frame for this stand to fit past my 4 inch tires when in the up position. This had only a small affect in that the bike slightly off center when up on the stand but clearing nicely when the stand is retracted. To reiterate, centerline hole did not work and I was bummed. This stand however really looked right to me, plenty sturdy, by far the best design I've seen, and I did not want give up. I did some grade school math and realized the offset would still keep the stand and bike up just fine and indeed that's how it turned out. I drilled a new mounting hole and, wow, it really works well. It's still a fairly top heavy load so care must be taken in using the stand but it stands my bike up just fine. I take care to pick the bike up by it's rear rack both when seating on the stand and when flipping it up. I also take care to not abuse it by sitting on it while on the stand. It already has enough to hold up. I am very happy with this kickstand. It operates well when off weighted and appears to be more robust around the axle than any other cast stand I've bought. And I've bought more than three. So yes, it is a fine wye stand. It snaps up and down without complaint. It balances my long tall and heavy ebike (although it is out on the last adjustment for leg length) well. Oh, and put some lube on it, it really needed it out of the box.

I installed the heavy duty version of this kickstand on a Trek MultiTrack 7000 step-through back. The difference between the heavy duty vs. regular is that the heavy duty has thicker "squared" legs vs. the more "rounded" legs of the regular. I want this kickstand because I have a rear rack with panniers on them, and want the bike stable so I can load the panniers without worrying about the bike falling over. Upon receiving the kickstand, I noticed there were some minor nicks on the stand itself, where some of the black paint chipped off...I did not worry about this that much, although it would have been nice to have received an item with no damage at all. installing the kickstand onto the bike was very simple. I used the optional shorter bolt since my bike already has a mounting plate. I left the legs in their shortest setting, since this appear to be enough to clear the front tire off the ground. I had to adjust the length of the legs a bit more since I noticed that with both deployed, the bike was leaning a bit towards the "gear-side" of the bike. To solve this issue, I extended the length of the "gear-side" leg by one adjustable range vs. the other side to make both sides symmetric. I am not sure if anybody else had to do this adjustment, or it is just unique to my bike alone. The bike seems fairly stable, but I did notice some play on the legs as you load the panniers and the bike becomes weighted down. One thing I did not particularly like was that with the front wheel in the air when the rear is loaded, the front will rotate freely, which is kind of annoying, but it is just part of the design of such a stand. As others have said, the fact that the stand retracts only to one side is really nice, and looks very clean on the bike. Something to note is that this heavy-duty stand as well as the regular stand are both made by a reputable Taiwanese company called "Massload" which manufacturers a lot of bike components. The heavy duty version is made in Taiwan. It is a quality product.

I had to do a slight modification on the clip to fit.

I bought this for my 2019 Jamis Renegade Expat (the green bike in the photos). This definitely won't fit the Jamis or probably any other bike with both the things the red arrows in the photo are pointing to. That pulley thing for the front geart mounted that low along with that little cross bar (I'm assuming that's a rear fender mount) leaves place to attach this kickstand. So if your bike looks like this down there, you are out of luck!I then tried this on our Specialized Roubaix (like 2010-ish) and am not sure that will work either. As you can see in the photo, it BARELY clears the pedal arm. To get it to clear at all, I had to attach it much closer to the rear tire than I'd like, and I had to turn the bottom part of the bracket a bit, so the top and bottom parts of the attachment clamp are not mounted square to each other. Though that doesn't seem to be a problem, as it still seems to be really firmly on there. We'll have to do a test ride but my guess is that our left heal will bump this kickstand when riding and we'll want to take it off. But the only reason I'm attaching this to a light road bike is we are currently using it with a trail-a-bike (shown in pic). It's a pain to always need to lean that setup against something and these double stands that let you mount vertically is a good solution since leaning all that weight over on a single kickstand isn't very stable. This stand with that trail-a-bike IS very stable. So why five stars when it didn't work for us? Well it's a fantastic design, really easy to install and use, and seems rock solid. I'm not sure what the designer could have done differently to make this a true 'universal' fit for all bikes but it'll fit most bikes well. I'm disappointed it won't fit my Jamis, I was hoping there was enough clearance under that pulley but I was wrong, not this design's fault. For the other bike, no one would normally put a bulky kickstand like this on a road racing bike. I'm not going to penalize the manufacturer for not making this thing more narrow for road bikes, that would probably mean it wouldn't be as stable for the 98% of bikes this is likely to be used on, which are hybrids and touring bikes. Though my Jamis Renegade IS kind of a touring bike, and if that pulley thing is becoming widely used, that may necessitate a design update.

This is a great design. It folds up with both legs on one side so it's about as easy as a regular stand to deploy. But with two legs, the bike balances upright, which is great for loading groceries on the back. It's heavy. I had hoped for aluminium. But it's steel and weighs a lot, which adds to the overall weight of my bike. But to be honest, looking at the physics of it holding the whole bike up, I think it would be tough to do in aluminium.I was very reluctant to spend nearly 50 dollars ona bike stand. But after I installed it and saw how it works, I was pleased that I didn't buy the cheap one.One minor complaint - it should be shipped in a box, not a bag. It's too heavy for the wrapping it came in and as a result it arrived with the paint worn off in one spot.
