The racks were delivered,and one upright was repainted,and all the hardware is steel.The hardware is advertised as stainless steel,and it is standard steel, nuts, bolts, washers etc.Contacted Amazon and they will not do anything about it,but they will let me return it.I would have to buy or provide boxing or shipping containers for this to be returned as it is many parts,and very bulky.UPDATE:Contacted amazon and they will reimburse a refund for SS hardwareManufacturer stated all new racks are now sold with zinc coated hardware,even though they advertise stainless steel.

Considering the price, I gave a 4 stars. As with most imports, the instructions are horrible. When I figured out that the side rails went on top of the cross bars; it made it more easy to understand and install. So you install it like most other ladder racks and then install the top side rails. It wasn't easy to align it but eventually we got it close enough. So, the bad is installation (which took half a day) and the poor instructions. Unfortunately there isn't any videos on the installation. The good is the price and it's really too early to say whether it will hold up over time. However with that being said, I think it will transport our kayak fine. It seems sturdy enough. Time will tell.

a few of the welded parts are not lined up, As we got halfway the struts were clearly off by a few degrees. making the project more difficult. After everything was put together. Well the system was sound.

Looks great on the truck. Was packed well only a few shipping scuffs. I needed to adapt for my 5 1/2 foot bed and the side pieces on the rail that needed sifted were gulled and rounded out the carriage bolt squares. And broke the bolts due to the gulling. On a road trip the rack was quite with and without the 17 foot canoe.

This is a sharp setup that looks even better in person. I haven't seen its equal on the road. Complements my truck very nice
