Great way to haul up your gear when up in a treestand. Don't have to deal with tangled lines, or lines blowing in the wind.Easy to hook up, climb and haul up gear, retract line, and you are done.

They have a rope in them seems to work pretty well but the handle on the crank is a little bit small and takes a while to get back up I'd recommend it it all depends what you're looking for

Don't use the crank to haul up items. Pull the "rope" up by hand and then use the crank to reel in the unloaded "rope".

I broke my bow reel and needed a replacement. This works better the the flat reel in type.

This thing is easy to use, I just hang it to my harness when I climbed ladder and pulled my bow up. It seems like each time I climb, at some point it kept spinning on its own and released a few feet without me moving. Not sure if it is tension on the string or how it wrapped up before but it is a little annoying because I can hear and feel it doing it. This makes it a lot easier then carrying a rope in your pocket as well frees up a pocket for other things. I like this better then another I have because of the plastic clip piece which is quieter then metal and won't scratch up my bow. I would love to see the rope color change, maybe an earth or woods color. My other hoist has a nylon strap which I believe I prefer better then rope but it has a metal piece to attach to bow as well as bright green and yellow base color instead of the black like this one. If I could take the black nylon strap and put it inside this with the flip out handle to roll it up, that would be a 5 star product all day long.

I have used most auto retracting gear hoist and the string is always small and hard to handle lifting any weight. Paracord gets tangled without some type of spool. These are not "perfect", but they are very functional, light, and seem as though they will hold up through some abuse in my pack. It is paracord so it has plenty of strength and spools up tightly enough where it doesnt tangle or tie itself in knots. For the price it is hard to beat.
