I received this "tested warehouse deal" and it did not work upon installation even though it was supposed to be tested as good. It was repackaged and scratched on the bottom case. It was 1/2 price so I took it to my local radio repair shop and confirmed it was not working.......the repair shop fixed it and I gave him $20.00 for his troubles. Buyer beware of warehouse tested deals. After the repair I installed the filter and to it's credit it works terrific, took out all the whine in my radio installation. 4 stars to the manufacture just short of 5 stars because of Amazon's broken promise of reliability and pre testing..........

I followed the instructions and spliced the power as close to the radio as possible. I was still getting alternator whine, which got me thinking... The speaker/RCA connectors are outside the head unit, so I have clean power at the radio, but noisy power right where the RCA connectors reside. So I re-did the connection, this time splicing at the OEM connector, so I'd have clean power between the original connector and all the aftermarket connectors between it and the radio. Fired up the engine, turned on the radio and... SILENCE! :)I have only changed the head unit, everything else is stock. So if you get this and it's not working, check where your speaker outputs are and where your power is. The power needs to be 'clean' around your speaker connections, not just at the radio. If you've changed your whole system (speakers, wires and/or amp), try this filter first. It'll probably take some diagnosing (may need clean power at both head unit and amp//wires may need shielding, etc.). It's not a plug-and-play magic bullet, so if you're expecting that, consider sticking to stock OEM.

Alternator whine was so bad on my Kenwood TM-942A that it was even heard when in receive. This filter totally eliminated it. I am running the rig via the cigar lighter outlet, not the recommended method, but the filter worked. It is important to keep the power leads short and make the electrical connections solid. WA6EJO.

Didn't work, must be something else causing the distortions, nice try anyway.

Filter showed up dead out of the bag and didn't allow any power to pass through. I sent it back and reordered. The second one worked perfectly and eliminated the alternator whine.

Product worked as advertised. Not a single bit of engine noise. Using with high output Polk system and turned up loud - no problems.
