This is a great rattle reel for the money. Easy set up and passed the test with flying color. I have 2 set up in my ice house and have had no issues so far. They work very well for crappies. Use with the lightest coated line for best results and reduced tangles.

Bought 2 of these for my permanent shack. I planned to use primarily for panfish so I intended to use them without the flag set and simple rely on the rattle reel noise as bite detection. As I feared, using the flag would create too much resistance for panfish. Unfortunately the reel hardly rattled... sounded like there was 1 or 2 bbs in the reel. Also didn't like that the wingnut to tighten tension was not parallel to reel for some reason (like this on both units). Flag would likely work well for walleye or pike. I also was afraid the reel being so small would lead to a lot of coiling of line. Returning and will keep looking.

I like the flag and rattle combo. It lacks in appearance of durability but time will tell. Simple and easy installation.

Perfect design! Well built. The reels are reversible for use at either side of your sitting position. (Just remove one screw, turn the reel and reinsert the screw.) The bracket and mount fit securely together, no worry of slipping apart when a fish hits.

Great little rattle reel, got it mounted in the shack can't wait to try it out, really wish it would have came with two of the mounts tho so I could move the rattle reel to different location
