Returned these because I wanted retractable spring loaded pick ends. Similar to the Eskimo ones as they are easier to use in an emergency. wouldnt use for this reason

These work well. The ice spikes retract into the handle for safety then pop out when pressure is applied. They were perfect for my recent Arctic expedition. Fortunately I didn’t need to use them to save my life. But I’m sure they would have if I had fallen through the ice
