After owning a Breville Espresso Machine and running it multiple times a day for 5 years now... I thought to myself surely their long slice toaster with all it's great reviews and endorsement by America's Test Kitchen would be great too.Boy was I wrong.Mediocre build quality (look at failed unit reviews... My unit also had crinkles around the edge where the "Breville" is stamped)... for a 20-30 dollar toaster I'd say whatever. This thing is $100!!!But this is the really bad part... The most important thing a long form toaster should be able to do is toast long slices of bread... And somehow... this thing made it through product development and cannot do that. There is a massive gap in the heating elements. See my photo. As an engineer... this blows my mind. It's like building a car and forgetting it needs to be able to drive down the street. It's like forgetting the wings on an airplane. Like what???Completely unforgivable mistake. This thing is junk. The 4.0 star review is completely wrong. This isnt an opinion... You're wrong if you like this toaster.Unfortunately, there aren't many other options. Some are out there... but they miss on the aesthetic side... or the quality side... or for some reason they're only a single slice.Im going to buy the Elite Gourmet one. But it has it's issues too.

This is seriously the best toaster I have used in my lifetime. Very easy to handle and has many options. The bread slices get evenly toasted and remain warm for longer. The best part about the toaster is that you can lift the slices up with the lever while they are getting toasted to check the intensity of toasting - and cancel if required. Would highly recommend it!

I owned an older model of this toaster and we loved it but after more than 10 years it became unreliable. The new one is better. Very consistent. Love the two long slots, as I make my own bread and it is great for odd shapes as well as two standard slices in each slot. The only drawback is when you use it the first time in the morning you need to use the bit more function as it takes longer to heat up. I would highly recommend the Breville toaster. The price on Amazon was half elsewhere.

My toaster for 12 years broke. It wouldn't work off to the popular chain store that sells everything. They had a toaster for $9. I thought no way. They had a toaster for $29. yes, I will purchase this. What a piece of junk. You push the slide down, and the toaster does a flip unless you hold the back of the toaster down. My bread did not go all the way down and toast. Finally, it would not toast a freaking muffin.I then suffered paralysis by analysis. I read reviews, reading how the toaster is terrible no matter what. I saw the Breville toaster. It was about $90. Man, that is some serious coin for a toaster. In inflation-fueled times, who knows what a reasonable price is?Upon receiving the Breville, I could tell it was of high quality just by lifting it. It toasted my bagel perfectly. I look forward to a long relationship with this toaster. It is worth every dime.

I like the features like to add a bit more time, and the bagel with options to toast the inside and not the outside. I also like the frozen feature that adds a bit more time to thaw out bread. Overall a good product.

Within a month of receiving the Breville "A Bit More" toaster and well past the Amazon refund window, multiple elements failed one by one. Breville provided me a shipping label to return it to them, and on receipt they were supposed to send a replacement. But they never did. I emailed their support team, but no reply. I've been more than ten weeks without a toaster.Update 2024-06-26: Breville "closed the case". I have sent them the defective toaster, but they have not provided a replacement.Update 2024-07: They finally sent the replacement toaster, after I sent an email to their product support team. The Product Manager "released" the replacement toaster and it showed up in a couple of days. It's a new product, still in its carton. I've used it for a few weeks, and am completely satisfied with it. One of the toaster reviewers suggested that new toasters should always be put through a "burn in", so before toasting anything I ran it empty on high heat for the maximum time (5 minutes). Don't know if it helped, but either way, the toaster is working perfectly. No toaster will ever toast perfectly uniformly on all surfaces, but the Breville 'A Bit More' is better than most. I've gotten into the habit of swapping the bread to the other slot half-way through, and that gives me near-perfect even toasting.

Like most households, we've always had some type of toaster. I've never invested much money in a toaster, because even though it gets used regularly--if not daily--it was just one of the minor appliances, used for one specific job. We replaced them periodically, as they failed every few years. When the units came out with the wider bagel slots and the better adjustment on toasting, we stepped up to those features, but still just bought "cheap toasters".When our most recent toaster died after several years, I looked over options on Amazon to see what new features, if any, may have evolved since my last purchase. We had updated our kitchen and although our needs hadn't changed, I thought that springing for a little nicer model might be worthwhile. I was captured by the appearance and the ratings of this Breville unit, so decided to up the ante and give it a try. So far, I've been happy with the decision. The only possible negative that I've found is that this unit is physically larger than the cheaper models. It's not monstrous, but it will take up more counter space than a basic unit. The appearance and the performance, however, is great. This is a nice-looking toaster and looks well-built. It performs in the standard manner, but I've been impressed with the very even and effective toasting of anything I put in the slots. I've used regular-sliced bought bread, thick-sliced homemade bread, bagels and biscuits, and everything comes out well-toasted. The toasting control works well, and the "Lift and Look" feature, combined with the "A Bit More" feature, provides extra control over the finished product. I haven't tried the "Frozen" setting, but the "Fruit Bread" setting works very well with the fruit bread that my daughter makes. The "Cancel" button works instantly, and is easier to use than trying to force up the toast lever on a conventional unit. I don't know whether the longevity will prove to be better than the average 4-5 years of the cheap units--probably not, since it's still the same basic design. Even so, I really like this toaster and as of now think our extra dollars for it were well-spent.

Excelente compra. Además bonito. Es eficiente y el indicador de tostado es útil para saber lo que falta para terminar. El defrost también es muy útil si se quiere tostar pan congeniado con mayor eficiencia.
