My injury: Mildly displaced oblique fracture of the 5th metacarpal.Urgent care put me in an ulnar gutter splint. I cut that off quick to position the 5th MP joint in flexion during immobilization for the collateral ligaments and best rehab outcome (I'm a PT who consulted a hand specialist OT colleague).This brace has a mild degree of MP flexion.It's rigid, definitely protective. It has a thin foam layer on the inside (would be nice if it was a bit thicker).Straps are plenty long - I cut off the excess.Sizing chart is accurate.Overall, good quality. Sad that it's a USA based company that's having these made in China.Pics: before cutting the excess length of straps. I'm wearing a 2" stockinette for wicking since I'll be in this awhile. (Bought a roll of it for $8. Cut a new one daily/frequently to minimize the stink/funk!).Updated review after 3 days in it: GET stockinette!!! I'm now putting a layer at my 4th & 5th digits due to maceration!If you have a similar injury, you may want to consider this splint. It's not perfect, but pretty darn close and everything I need!Manufacturer suggestions:1. More roundedness at the outside edge of the 5th finger: The strap across the 4th & 5th digits squish it like a crease vs more room if it had a wider radius at the edge.2. Room for the ulnar head, distal head of ulna at the wrist: When the straps are secured for the best protection, excessive pressure is on the ulnar head.3. Reconfigure for thicker foam, please.

Much more comfortable than what the doctor gave me. I did not need to mold it (but might later for an even more exact fit). The velcro could be improved and a different color, but it is perfect for function and comfort. I got the extended arm, and purchased a medium without measuring due to reviews saying it ran small. Fit great.

Based on the sizing chart, I needed a SMALL. However that was not at all correct. While it fit the wrist fine, it did not fit the hand at all. In fact, after about 10 minutes of wearing the small my hand was SCREAMING at me. I ordered a Medium and while it was bigger on the wrist and arm (I got the extended length), it fit the hand perfectly. So, basically you really need to find a brace company that has one that you can try on first so you can get the correct fit on your hand. The good news is if parts are too big or not big enough you can heat it up with a blow dryer and shape it to fit you better. Definitely provides better protection than anything else on the market because it is hard polymer. I definitely recommend this over all other boxer splints!

I followed other people's suggestions, and heated this thing with a hair dryer to make it mold better to my hand, but it is still quite uncomfortable. I also had to buy some extra Velcro to properly fasten the straps, as they were way too long and flapping all over the place, catching on other things. Velcro is cheap, so I am not sure why this brace does not come with enough Velcro to secure the straps. It was a real annoyance, and the brace is uncomfortable, makes my wrist ache, so I cannot recommend it.

ordered this after I was given a thumb splint for my broken ring finger. worked great, comfortable and effective. it is washable when it starts getting grungy, but it isn't breathable so it definitely needs it every couple days.

After a horrific pingpong injury, my doctor informed me that I might never use my pinky again. I think he was kidding because it was just broken, but he was not kidding when he told me a wearable cast like this would cost me $180 from his office so I'm not sure. Suffice to say, I purchased this and now have full control of my pinky. It does occasionally stick out while I'm drinking tea, but I'm not sure if that is due to the pingpong injury or just from the pressure society places on tea drinkers. Anyway, this thing isn't super comfortable, its annoying to wear, but did keep me from breaking my finger again.

I have used this aplint before and I appreciate the ease with which I can put it on myself and the support that it provides for my injury. This is definitely the best splint I have ever used.

The splint was not my son's favorite thing to wear, obviously, but it worked very well AND it was about half the price of replacing it through his doctor's office. You see, in addition to being a very good piece of medical equipment, this splint is also the most delicious treat that you can dangle in front of a Labrador Retriever and you can only dangle it so long before they find it sitting on the bathroom sink while you are in the shower. Ergo, we needed a new one. Thanks for the quick service and the fine product.
