I got these because they were cheap. I saw the reviews that they had weak magnets. So I added a few of my own (a little super glue and felt to prevent scratches) and now they are awesome.

We tried placing the magnet on the car and standing up a ski on it. As soon as we moved the ski the magnet fell off. We returned them.

This worked, just barely, on my Jeep Glatdiator. If I'm not careful putting my skis in, it just slides across the fender at has the potential to scratch the paint, or for the skis to fall over. It needs stronger magnets.

I've seen these type of magnetic holders on the internet in the past so I thought I'd order these by BougeRV. There are others that have posted pictures of the unpacked kit so I won't post another set but I thought I would post some pictures of the ski holder being used.The kit comes with 2 ski holders and a round bumper like holder that the instructions show can be used to hold the end of bike grips on handlebars. I haven't tried to see if the handlebars holder works because I don't see the utility in positioning a bike in a manner where the bike would be parallel to the car and would need to stand straight up with the grip against the car. When I unload our bikes, I just prop the rear wheel against the tires and turn the handlebars toward the car.Anyway, the ski holder magnets attach to our SUV well but since the magnets are seated in a pocket of silicon to protect the car paint, it's not a super strong hold. If skis are straight up, leaning within the two arms of the holder, then the magnets hold fine. Since the silicon is stiff enough to hold ski's in this position, using it with skis in this position is ideal. If the skis somehow become tilted to the left or right, with the weight of the ski's leaning on the arms of the holder with too much tilt, there is a point where the stiffness of the silicon gives way and the magnets give out. I've posted some pics to show what it looks like. The first picture shows the skis up-right, the next shows the maximum tilt of the skis for the holder to be able to keep adhesion to the car (obviously this will vary depending on the weight of the skis), and what happens when the skis are angled too far and the skis then start to rotate because the magnets cant hold one end of the holder to the car. So essentially, these holders work fine as long as the skis remain standing straight up against the car, which is how I intend to use them.The other thing I haven't yet tried to test is driving off with the holder on the car. We've all done it, driven off after a tiring day of skiing and leaving something on the side of the road. I thought I would leave this holder attached and drive around the neighborhood a bit to see if it slides off or moves at all. I'll post an update when I do that.For right now these are recommended.

These are AWESOME!!! My family of 4 go on 4-5 snowboard/ski trips a season and are on the mountain 3-4 days a trip. We have to drive to the slopes from our cabin and after last season I noticed multiple little scratches along the sides of my car just under the windows - right where we set our boards/skis when unloading/loading up the car. These magnet rubber stoppers are awesome. They make a spot on my car's side that we can lean our boards/skis onto and they wont slide down causing little scratches. The mag hold is strong and secure even in low temps. The rubber is soft and grippy and really keeps our boards stable. I am in love with them and so happy that they protect my car from more scratches.

Good idea but with magnetics that can barely support their own weight (tested on a few different metals and my car), they were an immediate return. Epic fail.

This is a pretty slick set to keep skis and bikes leaned against a vehicle off of the paint. The set also seems really well made. I just tested them in the garage today but will be up on the slopes next weekend for a more intensive test.• The set comes with 2 holders with 2 ‘knobs’. This works well to hold skis or could lean a snowboard against it (it’s rubber so it won’t slide off but you could bump it off). I didn’t try it but I think you could put one vertically and it should hold a road bike handlebar.• The third piece is like a doughnut. My mountain bike handlebar fits in in perfectly. I guess this could also hold a snowboard.• The magnets are strong yet it’s not so hard to pull it off the vehicle. The magnets don’t contact the paint directly; only the soft rubber of the holders does.• It also comes with a Velcro-like strap that easily feeds through a slot in each piece so you can keep the pieces together, or separate them.I’m set for winter skiing and summer riding now. The ski holders are stuck on the inside of my truck bed; I can just pull them off and put them on the outside when I get to the lot.
