I actually have two of these and they have been working fine charging the Lifepo4 batteries. I have two because I have solar panels in two different locations which are far apart.

BougeRV Li 30amp PWM Solar Charge Controller. I needed to replace my old solar charge controller with a unit that would fully charge a LiFePO4 battery. This charger had decent reviews, and the price was very good at the time of purchase. This controller is quite simple to set up. It allows you to set a range of options that include all the current battery types and provide display information that is easy to understand with a welcome backlight. I was hoping that I could find a controller that had Bluetooth connectivity, and this new unit has that. You will need to download the app and follow the instructions in the app. I monitored my charge from about 50 feet away and was able to connect and receive progress information without errors. What I like: Easy to set up. The Bluetooth connection is helpful. I also like that the unit allows for a wide range of battery types and particularly for the LiFePO4 type batteries.Dislikes: I did not remove a star because these are not operational issues. There are a few things that I found could be improved but did not hinder the operation. One is the connector hole for the wire is small. 30 Amp calls for at least 12 AWG wire but anyone wanting to extend the cabling 20 feet or so away from their panels will want something larger. I like to have at least 10 AWG wires. The connector holes may not be large enough to accommodate 10 AWG. However, BougeRV provides small spade connectors. They are rather thin gauge. When installed, the plastic insulator will not fit all the way into the opening. The plastic must be crushed to reduce the size. Another thing is the confusing picture of the 30 Amp controller in the manual. The 30 Amp unit picture shows a set of heat cooling fins on the bottom. However, there are no fins. This makes one believe that they did not receive the 30 Amp unit. The model number on the unit says 30 Amp and I confirmed with customer service that this was the correct unit. It just no longer has cooling fins.Overall, this is a very good controller for the price, and yes, I would recommend it.

I've bought a few charge controller's over the past 5 years or so. I went this one mostly due to the name, reviews and price. I have bought a few of their products in the past and have been super impressed with the quality, given the price. This controller doesn't stray far from my prior thoughts. I like how it does not scroll through 5+ different values like the others I have. I really just want to know what the current battery's charge is at and how many amps am I getting from my panels. I know on this and most controllers you can hit a button to scroll through, but most of the time I just glance at it till I see what I'm interested in. With this just showing the battery and input values (with a shot interval), I'm not wasting time watching this thing. Also this was super easy to setup. Was my first time using a LiFePO4 battery and it already had the correct settings (but would of been real easy to adjust). I also liked how they included the connector spades (although making them Heat Shrink would of been even better). Some folks have said it's hard to read in direct sun and I would agree but I really didn't see this as a big issue. Like my headline said, it's a solid product and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've never used an electronic component so poorly designed, with instructions that contradict themselves and are almost impossible to decipher. For starters, the terminals for attaching the cables to solar and battery are practically useless. Small terminal screws, recessed into a hole too small for anything but the smallest Phillips head screwdriver, and even then they stripped out easily. How complicated do you have to make this thing? lol It's for small systems. Setting it up is like programming a space shuttle launch. The instructions are poorly written. It tells you to use the "function" button to do xxx, but according to their own schematic there IS no function button. The most UN-intuitive display I have ever seen. It's being returned.

Review for: BougeRV Li 20A PWM Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V, with Backlit Display, USB Port, Negative Ground Battery Intelligent Regulator for Solar Panels Compatible with LFP, AGM, SLD, FLA, for RV, Off-GirdBeen using this charger on our pop up camper since April 2023. It works well, keeps our battery charged from solar while camping. I have a voltage booster on a 12V charge line from the truck when pulling and that works well also. Both are connected to the charger in parallel with a 10 amp diode to isolate the booster line, requiring me to be aware not to connect solar and the truck at the same time (hard to do in practice and probably would not matter anyway).Unlike another charger I have (ECO-WORTHY 12V 20A DC to DC MPPT), this charger will charge in low sunlight. I would rather get a charge of 0.2 amp on a cloudy day instead of zero like the Eco-Worthy does.Only complaint is the display is on as long as the charger is connected to a battery. That is not drain much from the battery but we leave the camper unused for a month or so (still have to work unfortunately) and I don't like the trickle discharge. Have not actually seen a problem with this, but still would like the display to turn off when not needed. Suppose I could install a switch...Should issues arise with this charger I will update this review.
