80A MPPT Solar Charge Controller Warm Tips:

  1. Solar controller link order: first connect to battery; then connect to PV array; finally connect to load appliance.
  2. Don't connect inverter, wind, alternator charger into the charge controller! Please connect the solar controller to the battery.
  3. If solar PV input voltage lower 3V or lower than batteries’ voltage. It may be appears to have been discontinued.
  4. Parameter Setting:Floating voltage > Low voltage reconnect > Low voltage discharge.
  5. When controller makes buzzing because the controller dissipate heat. It will be stop when temperature return to normal.
  6. Don't let the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery touch each other.

  • Users should first connect the battery before connecting the solar panel for the solar controller to function properly.Otherwise, it may cause irreversible damage to the controller.

  • It may be caused by low voltage. When connecting the PV, it is necessary to ensure that the PV voltage is 1.5 times higher than the battery voltage.

  • When the battery is in float charging state or the solar panel is damaged, the charging current is problly to be less than 1ah. When the charging current is less than 1Ah, the charging current is displayed as ZERO.

I have been using this controller to charge an 800ah bank of batteries all summer long to run a 5000-btu window AC unit. And it has done a Fantastic job in keeping my new batteries in peak condition. Seems to be very efficient. In fact it outperforms many high dollar units. Sadly I have had to mount it in a very Hot closet. Texas summers are that way. I would rate it 5 Stars except the cooling fan runs an awful lot. Every few minutes during the day. That said, in my 20+ years of solar off grid experience, when the fans on these things run that much, they tend to Not last very long. But, it is probably the best charge controller I have owned. I waited until the end of summer to write a review because I didn't think it was going to last. That said I bought two, one as a backup, which I have not used. I Read the reviews before I buy ANYTHING, and there was very little on this one when I bought it. But so far it has been an outstanding charge controller. And it performs according to specs. Very solid.

I have 10 older solar panels that I bought used. I have been using various cheaper charge controllers that were either pwm or that claim to be mppt and worked pretty well but were not true mppt. I have a hard time spending money but I finally spent a little more for this one. I am thrilled. We finally have a little bit of consistency with our solar output. Most of the day my batteries are full and my four lithium batteries even had enough juice in them to weather most of about 4 or 5 very rainy, post gulf hurricane days in northeast Arkansas. It says it has a one year warranty I believe. I hope we don't have to test that. The product manual is pretty straightforward and easy to understand. I am pleased with this purchase.

I had it for about a month. It was good, then it produced less amps. It also stopped charging the batteries before it was full. There are 2 more reviews here stating it stop charging before a full battery. Seller tells me to check externals like wires and sunlight. They're the same, nothing changed except for the mppt. Seller refused to honor warranty and replace.

Received the 100 amp charge controller yesterday! Quick shipping, packaged well and was easy to hook up. The user manual is VERY well done! Easy to read and has a COMPLETE setup and operational steps. The GREATEST part was to find that this controller actually WORKS and is much more efficient than other "lower priced" ones l've used!!! Kudos to the manufacturer and seller of this product! I will post more after it's been installed for a month or so!!!

I purchased one of these and it had been working well. I decided I wanted to buy a second one and 'share' panels... eg hook up 2 solar panels in parallel feeding 2 chargers and 2 separate battery banks of different voltages (1x12v and 1x24v). That way, both banks can be charged from the same solar panels and take full advantage of both panels if one bank is lower. Ohms law would dictate which controller got more juice. This setup would require isolated inputs. Easy peasy, right? So I asked if it was isolated and was told 'yes'... That was a lie.Inputs aren't isolated. Meaning that when both controllers are on, it's backfeeding battery voltage back onto the solar input lines, which isn't even supposed to be possible on an MPPT charger.I will have to add blocking diodes at an extensive cost.

tried different controllers and many of the allowed voltage past the set points. With litium iron batteries that is a killer for batteries. My expesive Outback controllers died and the company wont stand behind their product unlees you send them 100 bucks to take a look at the. I have 3 controllers in parallel and they all read 14 volts That was the setting i programmed them to. Easy to install and large wire receptacles . all good so far

I won't get a chance to set this up to test this until next year, but first impressions are good. Delivered promptly, well packed, and in good condition. Instructions are clear enough, and it feels well put together.
