The sharpener does not have a "ratchet" mechanism that I could tell. Also, there is no snap cover to secure the shavings inside so they can spill out of the sharpening hole.

We were very happy with how well the collar worked. Once we put it on it solved the tick problem immediately. Also the ability to cut to size to fit our dog was another great feature. We will definitely buy this product again.

Despite arthritis in my hands, I've revived my enjoyable hobby of drawing, coloring, and painting. I shared it with quite young nieces & nephews and we decorated cut wooden ornaments with colored pencils. These sharpeners were a blessing. They were easy for their young hands, and my stiff, old ones. No messes got made because the shavings were captured within the sharpener domes. The package came with three of them so we all were able to keep up with the need for sharp points. I also liked that they accomodated 2 sizes of pencil in each one.They're inexpensive, so I gave the kids their sharpeners to take home. I'd buy these again!

Add shows 3 in the photo and sold as pack. There is no option to choose colour's which leads you to believe it is a pack of 3 when it's only 1. It's an 18 dollar plastic pencil sharpener.. a bit excessive.

I think this design is genius, Bostich! I have carpal tunnel in both hands, rheumatoid arthritis, and this is a life saver! So easy to use, and doesn't chew up wood, nice sharp point, too! Even on notoriously hard to sharpen colored pencils! I just wish the shavings area was bigger. You need to empty it pretty often, and I hope the plastic hinge holds up. Thankfully, they are pretty reasonably priced, so replacing one won't cost too much. I have not tried these on pastel pencils or extremely soft core colored pencils yet, but it works beautifully on my prismacolors and cretacolor mega pencils. What is also nice about the design is that your pencil goes in pretty far before it sharpens, so it won't fall out if you let go of it, and the pencils fit snugly in the receptacle so they aren't wobbly. All in all, fantastic for price, ease, and performance. Win win with this one😁

For anybody that uses color pencils you know the aggravation breaking your lead when you sharpen your pencil. And most of us attribute it to poor quality pencil for rough handling during shipping but since I've got this sharpener I'm convinced that it's all calls because of the sharpening process from low quality sharpeners. Cuz I have went through a 72 count pack of colored pencils to where I'm about to buy more and I've only sharpened them with this sharpener cuz I got it at the same time I got the pencils and I'm not had one broken lead! I would have never thought that was possible at all no matter what reason I may have thoughts was breaking all my leads in the past! And I'm totally convinced it's because of this sharpener it works wonderful it's so easy to use you can't imagine being able to never break the lead in your pencil it just never happens but you buy this sharpener and I'm going to say you're probably not going to worry about doing that anymore. Seriously I'm amazed that how I am not had any of my pencil leads break I even went back and grab some of my older colored pencils that were about used up that I hadn't been willing to throw away yet but didn't use cuz of their small size just to see if it worked on them man I never had an issue with the pencil leads breaking on them either this thing is amazing I will never buy another brand or style or this will be my only pencil sharpener I buy from now on

Very misleading. Its only 1 great job tricking busy parents to think its a pack of 3. I'm doing my sons back to school shopping from super store. Never from Amazon again

I’m disappointed. The concept is good, however, the sharpener doesn’t sharpen the way it should in order to be more helpful at school.
