With other hole saw arbors, first you screw the hole saw onto the collar threads, and then push in the drive pins.The Bosch hole saw arbor reverses the order. First you put the hole saw seated on the drive pins, then you push the hole saw towards the drill while turning. This pushes the collar threads out, allowing them to engage the hole saw threads. After the hole saw is tightened on the threads, you push the socket down over the gear. This prevents the hole saw from over-tightening, but only for 1-1/4" or larger hole saws. When using the 5/8" to 1/2" collar thread adapter, nothing prevents over-tightening.The socket has 12 points (if I can count). The socket also has a little play, so if the socket and points aren't exactly aligned, it's possible to tighten the hole saw just a little more, and then push the socket down to engage the points.Pros:-Should be no wobble if the threads are properly tightened.-Once the hole saw is screwed onto the collar, this locks the pilot bit into place so that it can't be pulled out.-The 1/4" x 4" pilot bit is really nice.-The hex pilot bit means that you could choose any pilot bit diameter. This is why I was interested in this arbor. However, if you are using the collar thread adapter, and the hole saw is 2" long, then the pilot bit will have to be at least 3-1/4" long.Cons:-Biggest negative for me is that the hex shank pilot bit has too much play. It is not held firm in place. The longer the pilot bit, the more play at the tip.-The pilot bit is really hard to push in.-The pilot bit is really hard pull out when it's not locked. I could live with this if it meant the pilot bit didn't have any play.-Doesn't prevent 1-1/16" or smaller hole saws from over-tightening on the thread adapter. Thus, there's no advantage of using this arbor with smaller hole saws over a simpler arbor (one without all the extra hardware).-The socket has two positions, up or down. Moving it from one position to the other is jerky. This is most likely because of the locking mechanism that prevents the hex pilot bit from being pulled out.-There's no way to nest one hole saw in another. The 5/8" collar threads will support at most one hole saw. Same goes for the 1/2" adapter collar threads.In summary, I could see this arbor working for some people. However, for me the pilot bit play is a deal breaker.

I need to use this right away but there was no pilot bit in the plastic "bubble" package. There's a slot for it, but it's empty. It's still sealed too, so it's not like it fell out or something...

Used this arbor with the Bosch Daredevil hole saw. It is like a match made in heaven. I love the simplicity of the design (quick change feature) and how easily it is to remove from the hole saw or change the pilot bit. The arbor appears to be well built to last for years of use.

I really like this product, the only issues I've had is when I ask it to beyond it's design limits. Great extra thing is it will accept their multi-perpose drill bit, a must for Hardie board.
