Does a good job in keeping the boiler clean. Someone reviewed that it makes the water dirty. That means it's doing its job in removing scale from the inside of the boiler, making it more efficient.

The powder is hard to get into the boiler. Must have a large funnel to do it, but it binds with rust when heated to make a black sludge that is easily flushed out the drain valve.Keeps surging down & raises boil point slightly to produce a hot, dry steam. Also quiets hammering effect. (Of course, lowering the pressure by a half pound helps with that too.Been using it successfully for decades. Kept my old boiler going for 55+ years.

If you have a steam boiler you really need to add this once per year! It really does make the steam radiators, boiler and pipes run cleaner. Just follow the directions and accept no substitute!
