I received this in late January and by March it was cracked due to freezing. New Jersey isn't the coldest State and I don't think it got below 15 degrees. I don't know why it didn't hold up to its "Freeze Proof" claim. It is a nice looking rain gauge, just not good for winter.

I love this and it is a 100% than my last one. The last one stuck in the ground and was a mess to remove. It also had a plastic floater to show you the level but when you dumped the gauge out you had to let it completely dry or the plastic would stick to the bottom and not float again.

This works well. We've appreciated having the easy-to-read rain measurements. It's good sized and sturdy. Hopefully the plastic will hold up under the southern sun. Will update if it doesn't last, as we've only had it about a month.

We really like this rain gauge. I forgot to bring it inside, although it says it won’t crack, wrong, it is cracked. I’ll see if I can get a replacement tube and remember to keep it indoors during winter months. I gave it a 4 because it cracked

I have purchased a number of rain gauges in the past. This is certainly the best. It is large and very easy to read. It is sturdy. I stuck the holder in the ground where nothing obstructs rain falling at an angle. The tube can easily be taken out for reading and easy to place back in the holder. Although I have had it less than a year, I expect it to outlast any of the others I have purchased. It could be the last one I ever buy. Definitely worth paying a little more for.
