It's fairly sturdy and more attractive than a yardstick! Easy to assemble.

Purchased for my dad and he loves it. It has snowed a few times since sending to him and a couple of times snow hit 12". He said it good quality, however, with big gusts of wind, it was pulled out. He may not have had it down enough.

This needs to be a bit sturdier, but we got lots of compliments on it when posting our area's snowfall! Just be cautious because if you're going to get strong winds, it's going to make this lean!

I'm reasonably happy with this, but as mentioned in the headline, I wish it was a little sturdier. It might be hard to tell in the photos, but especially in the 2nd picture showing it from the side, you can see it leaning back a bit. When the wind is over 10 mph you can see it shaking. Also, it comes in multiple pieces, which are easy to put together, but even after firmly tightening it, there can be movement between the pieces which make it look crooked. I have the 24 inch version. I would think these issues would be exasperated with the 36 inch.

This snow measurement post comes packaged in 4 parts. Three are the measurement section, and the fourth is the thermometer. Also included is hardware (nuts and bolts), a screwdriver (Allen key shaped) and a wrench. Putting the pieces together was very easy since all of the tools required are shipped in the box. Simply lining up the holes and tightening the provided nuts and bolts with the screw driver and wrench provided enough support that the post stands up strong. The thermometer looks great on the top. I love how it has a snow flake pattern around the frame. The thermometer is also very accurate and feels very strong on the post.Since the weather is still a little warm, I haven’t been able to see how it looks covered in snow, but right now in the garden it looks great! Putting it into a soft section of ground was easy and it feels quite firm in its footing.I’m very excited to add this to our property and would recommend it!

I use a rain gauge in the warmer months, so why not a snow gauge in the winter? This ornament is cute, will be easy to read at a distance, and a good height for even the deepest snow belt squalls. It comes in 3 parts that need to be assembled with a single thumb screw at each point. Unfortunately, this makes 2 weak points, and 2 screws that can get loose or lost. It does make it more compact to store, but feels like a missed opportunity. One screw or a single-piece construction would have been better. It doesn’t feel like it will bend easily, and I’m optimistic that I can use it for years to come.
