This warering system is very usuful for frequent travelers to keep house plants alive. In general, there is a bit of a learning curve to set it up properly (especially if like me you do not read the instructions). There are plenty of youtube videos and instructions are included in the package. Overall a good and flexible system.

I needed a way to keep my plants hydrated while away. This system is not only super easy to set up, it's effective too and doesn't have many pieces/parts to get damaged over time. Truly, this made hydrating my plants while away as easy as possible. Once received, you simply need to remove the caps from the clay spikes, soak them, fill them with water, replace the caps and insert into the plant. Then place the end of the hose into a bucket of water and voila! You are done!!!! The larger the bucket, the longer they will stay watered.

I bought these to keep my potted vegetables alive while on a one week vacation. They were easy to set up and did their job at keeping my plants alive and healthy.I used a 5 gallon bucket for each group of 7-8 plants. I used one spike for each plant and two for my arugula lettuce which typically needs more water. Since it was December and not too warm, the plants consumed just 3 inches of water in one week.

They worked good while I needed them for the two months. I thought I could use them on a long-term basis, but you need to change them every four months.

I have been wondering how to keep my plant hydrated when I go away for a while. I kept them outdoors so that our self irrigation system water them, but some of them bleaches white and turns unhealthy. My daughter gave a three heads Blumat package for Christmas stocking stuffer, and Voila! It works. I bought 15 heads package this time. I will have enough hydrating heads for my indoor plants. I am so happy I have them now.

We went going on a month long trip and have 50 houseplants of varying size and age. We set up multiple watering stations using 5 gallon buckets and the Blumat watering stakes ahead of time and found that they work very well. The plants were getting watered. However, when we got back we found that some of the smaller plants that were on the floor, lower than the rim of the buckets, did overflow some. I attribute that to lack of experience. We highly recommend them. Also very happy with customer service. I thought we had a problem and they resolved it for me.

I desperately needed something to water my plants while I was gone. Because of all the great reviews, I decided to go ahead and order 15 of these. The short version is that no matter where I place the reservoir, the dirt stays bone dry, even though the reservoir dries up as if water is being used and the carrots still have water in cap area. When I got home, the largest leaves on my large aloe dried up from lack of water, and there was plenty of water in the reservoir still. I even tried moving the water resevoir to the same height as the plant pots. The dirt in the pots are still bone dry.I have no idea how other people are having these miraculous results with these things. They are extremely expensive and do absolutely nothing! I did contact the company who sells them for assistance with troubleshooting. But the only thing you can possibly do is either raise or lower the height of the water reservoir. I even soaked the carrots a couple times and tried to reinstall them. No difference at all. It just wasted a lot of water and my time. But yet all my plants were still bone dry. I can't believe I've bought 15 of these things based on Amazon rave reviews. Yet another Amazon product that everyone else seems to love but doesn't work for me....

I bought a larger package to water the plants on our deck during our absence. The little cones supplied smaller plants well enough with water, but did not work very well for larger pots or flower boxes, even though I inserted several cones into each of them. Only a small area around the cones was moist, the rest remained too dry, even when I placed the water reservoir higher than the plants.
