Bought it because it is cheaper than the Windex brand. Seems like decent quality. Spins easily, maybe not as good as Windex. The assembly instructions are crap. It seems easy to figure out. HOWEVER, the tubes for the head and tail are different lengths and not marked. I assembled it dry to test, but when I reassembled it with the included super glue, I got them switched, so it is not balanced correctly. The instructions show the tubes as the same, but the longer one goes to the head. I fixed it with electrical tape around the neck of the short piece. The rods for the angle arrows are more robust than Windex and anodized red, but the tabs are not reflective.

Parts were missing. After using glue on the parts, I felt I could not return this item. I made the missing parts. It took hours on this windex. I went sailing for a week and the item held up. I was surprised.

I put this wind vein on top of a 14 foot mast on a combat kayak. Very visible from below. And a very fine reaction to win changes. I like this product. Definitely recommended.

This wind vane does require some assembly but I had a lot of fun doing that cuz I like that kind of thing. Also I was really impressed with the quality of the construction and materials.

Fell apart one day after the mast went up. My previous unit lasted more than 24 years. This one less than 24 hours.
