It was exactly what I ordered and was happily surprised that it included new linch pins and safety lines!

It’s a bit heavier than I expected, but it seems very solid and works well. The hardware is great and all I’ve changed is adding a locking pin to the receiver hitch so it can stay in place while parked and away from the RV.I’ll be ordering a cover for it too.

BlueOx tow bars are excellent in every way. We’ve used them for 14 years without any issues. Bought a new one because of the age of the original.

This is our first tow bar and for our first tow vehicle. Heavier than it looks (and I'm 6'4" and 240 pounds; it was a struggle!) Quality of product is excellent and will be put to good use. Shipping was quick!

I purchased this tow bar to pull my car behind our RV. It was very easy to install, and stays on the RV with a nice cover when not towing. Very well built, a good value and easy to use. A plus in every detail. The only hard part for me was mounting it in the receiver, I am 75 and not as strong as I once was, but I managed, then everything else was easy.

The Alpha appears well made and gives a sturdy impression. So far I did not have any problems with sticky release handles. The joints are bit tight at first but are getting easier to move with use. The rubber boots look like they should last a good long time. The included safety cables work well with my set up. I am towing a 2016 Ford Edge 3.5L AWD, weighing ca 4600 lbs which the Alpha can easily handle, being rated at 6500 lbs.

Combined with the appropriate base plate, wiring, etc. this tow bar is easy to use and works as advertised. Mine came with a broken zip tie that held the protective boot on one of the arms. I replaced this with a 1/4" tie from my stock. These ties are cut and removed and replaced whenever you lubricate the arms (recommended annually), so I did not consider this a significant problem. With my RV, the hitch height and the tow plate height are not within the 4" vertical alignment specified by the manufacturer, thus requiring addition of a drop receiver. This of course adds weight to the overall system. I imagine that this is a common need for any RV pulling a car or small SUV with normal ground clearance. The hookup procedure involves pulling the towed vehicle forward until one or both of the lock handles pops up. This is a very subtle change in the position of the handle and it took several cycles of engaging and disengaging these locks to convince myself that they were locking.Another subtlety was the "soft latching" of the retracted arms. When you retract them into the carrying position after detaching them from the tow vehicle, the are suppose to latch in this shortened, retracted position. This latching is so soft that it sometimes seems not to exist!

This is a top notch quality tow bar that contains many safety and operational features to make towing a car behind your RV a breeze. Easy to adjust when hooking up so you don't need to be exactly right on. During disconnect you depress the two locking levers to release the pressure and allow a quick disconnect. Rubber sleeves protect the sliding steel rods so that dirt and grime do not get into the parts that need to slide easily. A very heavy piece of gear that can really take a knock or two and operate without a problem. I would recommend using a locking device on the two connection devices rather than the rod & clip provided as the clips can come off while driving leaving your vehicle disconnected by one strut ... I know, it happened to me.
