  • Welding Current AC-DCEP, AWS A5.4
  • Welding Current AC-DCEP

E308/308L-16 is an extra low carbon electrode for welding 304L, 321 and 347 stainless steels. The controlled ferrite in the weld deposits gives excellent notch toughness at cryogenic temperatures.

I haven't done much stainless DC stick welding but these worked so much better than the very expensive 309 "MIG" brand consumables I bought at the local welding supply store. Welding 304L 1/4" round bar, very clean weld, low splatter, great edge profile, arc started consistently and was very easy to maintain without sticking. Glad I found these and will buy again for similar projects.

I am out of state right now and don't have access to my tig in my shop. I had an exhaust project and have a titanium multi process machine with me. I have been welding aluminized to stainless steel. It welds perfectly and is a great alternative to tig. I was super impressed.

I ONLY USE STAINLESS-STEEL WELDING ROD'S FOR ANY,, AND ALL TYPE'S OF STEEL'S,, THEY WORK EXCELLENT AND FLOW JUST AS NICE AS TRDITIONAL "7018",, 6014,, 6011,,,, ETC,, ALONG WITH LOW SPLATTER,, THE WELD'S ARE MUCH STRONGER,, AND WILL LAST LONGER,, FOR THE LOW-PRICE OF THESE S.STEEL ROD'S,, IT JUST MAKE'S MORE SENSE TO GO THE EXTRA,, TO GET A BETTER QUALITY WELD,, THEY WELD JUST AS NICE,, OR VERY CLOSE TO "304" S.STEEL ROD'S,, WITH-OUT THE HIGH PRICE OF 304 S.STEEL WELDING ROD'S.

This was my first time stick welding stainless steel but in general the rods worked well (to bad welder didn’t). I wish I had had some excess material to practice on but that wasn’t the case. The rods were easy to strike but be certain to clean your joints prior to welding. The rods run slow. This took me sometime to get used to since I have only welded mild steel to this point. If your travel speed is too quick you’ll end up with some poor welds in both appearance and integrity. Overall I’m quite pleased with these rods. They are easy to strike and restrike. Slag is easily removed and the welds, when done correctly look very good. My only choice other then these rods was to use a trimix gas with my mig welder which would have been costly amd time consuming. Very much recommend these rods

Used them on 1/4” #304 stainless steel and they worked fine. Slightly difficult to get started on a fresh rod, but that may be me as I am not a trained welder. The molten metal seems to be a little bit on the thin side as far as how easy it runs before cooling down. Overall, I would say that they worked great even with my inexperience.

Home garage/shade tree mechanic here learning to weld on SS. Watched the other review video before buying. Stuff works great and is easy to use if you run one consistent bead. Difficult to start arc once it has been used, even after trimming the tip off. Noted 1/16 made in the land of the Coronavirus while 1/8 is made in India.

I tried these out for the first time today and they weld nicely producing a great bead. Easy to control the arc. The only complaint I have is that the case for the 1 lb of rods is really flimsy and when I received it, the area where the two halves screw together was totally split so the rods were exposed. Not sure how sensitive these are to moisture but generally you want your sticks to be in a near airtight case and this was anything but.

Works very well. However, it easily burns through 12 gauge stainless steel metal even when I am careful, and set at the lowest amp settings (I think 35 amps). Very little to no splash. Start very easily. For thicker metal, I strongly recommend it.
