Liked they were in a self contained holder. I will be using these for making copper wire designs. Shipping was fast, way ahead of the scheduled delivery time. Would order again

This Bluefire aluminum brazing rods is an all purpose alloy, it welds firmly and stays perfectly for aluminum, copper, brass, steel and many other metal parts. Very low melting temperature, well, you can even melt it with butane gas torches. I use this brazing rods to fix my outdoor gears and it works well. Remember this brazing rods is better to use with special flux, which contains the rare earth element Cs, I recommend to use the brazing flux with the same Bluefire brand, the welding fluid can flow well with the correct flux and can goes deep in the shallow joints spacing between parts. Overall, very practical brazing rods with reasonable price, I totally have no problem with it, definetely will buy again!

This is a real low temperature aluminum brazing rods, much lower than the classic ER4043 and ER4047 aluminmum brazing alloys, I checked the contents found that it contains Al, Zn, Ag instead of Al+Si, so that should be the reason why the melting temperature is significant lower than other alloys. One thing must know is that this aluminum brazing rods is NOT self fluxing or flux-free brazing rods as some other brands claimed, those claims are all fake! If you only need to do is just a filling job, then yes you can finish the filling job with the bare rods without any flux, just like those advertising videos shown, fill a hole in an empty Coke can or something else, that is FILLING job and do not let those videos fool you around. If you need to do some more serious works such as brazing two pipes together and there is small gap between them, then you must need the help of special flux, so the welding fluid could really go deep into the gap and form a firm welding joint. And because the low melting temperature, you cannot use the flux for ER4043 or ER4047, like some sellers do, you must choose the flux with Cs inside, which is much more expensive. Keep these advises in mind when you start your work.

These rods have worked amazing on metals that I have had trouble getting a solid weld due to the type of metal. These rods are great and have improved my welding skills.

i tried propane, mapp and oxy/ acet torch heating applications, cleaned the surface, wiped with acetone, used a quality flux, melted the rod and it stuck to the copper just find but it would not bond with the 1060 aluminum tube, not even some 6061 flat stock i had

These did not work for me. They did melt with only a blow torch but did not stick. Next time I would buy rods that contain flux or buy flux with this product. I am sure the product is fine but the purchase instructions should describe how to use them better for first time users.

Will not stick to anything but itself. Zero stars. Don't waste your money on this.
