Good torch had a power probe one a few years ago and liked it but it messed up. Was going to buy a new one and seen this one it’s just like the power probe and a little cheaper with different color options. Works really good.

Love the reliability and consistency of this torch/torch flame. It is my second type of Blazer torch and mirrors the unflinching quality starts-every-time dependability so rarely had and so strongly appreciated. It’s a great alternative for those seeking that quality but not needing the incredible power of a GT-8000. Steal for the price as well!

Same exact mini torch as power probe but half the cost. Use a good quality butane for best functionality. I been using my power probe for over 6yrs and still going strong. I use this torch nearly on a daily basis for heat shrinking just need a back up on standby. Good quality mini torch with strong flame which you can adjust 🔥👍

Was hoping for a bit of a larger flame, very nice torch otherwise.

Wonderful little torch that is well worth the cost. Very durable and trouble free. Lights on the first try every time. Very controllable flame size. I’ve gone through several torches and this is by far the best one I’ve tried.

I think this is amazing. I use it for dabs and i had two small butane torches that struggled to heat the glass up before purchasing this. Wow. That is definitely not a problem anymore. I'm using this bottle of cheap butane up before I get a better one but I don't know what the fuss is about what brand of butane you use. Evem with this cheap stuff the torch works amazing. Best torch i have owned...

I use this a lot for mechanics. I've hardly filled it. It lights up every time, and the range of the flame is awesome for small areas or for thicker material. Worth my money

Update: 7/9/2020So I've now had this torch for just about 2 years (give or take a couple of weeks) and it simply will no longer work as a torch. It works as a lighter, but I don't need a lighter, I need a torch. It still continues to be difficult to ignite. IDK, 2 years of super light casual use is not acceptable. Not too mention, this is nearly twice the price as it was just 2 years ago! WT.... If the mfg. is reading this, I'd be willing to ship it somewhere for it to get looked at and/or replaced.Original review (summer, 2018) : This was a 2nd unit for me as my son left the last one out in the rain, and it was ruined. Having that said, I now have experience with 2 of these, and the first one was by far better than the one I have now. I guess it's some kind of quality control issue as they operate very differently. Also, I thought the first one was so great, I purchased the exact one again. The flame will not allow a low setting as it completely extinguishes itself when you go below half... Disappointing, the first one didn't do that. The second unit is a lot harder to ignite too. Again, not so with the first one. Maybe I got a defective one, I'm not sure - but unfortunately, I would not recommend this mini torch, nor world I but another.

I need a torch for vape-related work, such as heating coils, torching stainless steel mesh and wick, and other similar tasks. I started off initially with one of those cheap $8 torches that looks like an oversized lighter. It sort of worked, but the flame adjustment was poor, it was hard to light, and the flame would often go out. After looking at a few options, I went for the Blazer. I narrowed it down to this model and the 2001 model. I opted for this due to the lower price, plus the fact that the flame length is shorter and better suited to precision work.Very, very pleased with it. It lights on the first spark each time, the flame can be easily adjusted, and the foot keeps it steady for no-hands use. The build quality is solid, with mostly metal construction. The locking button is a plus as well to ensure zero gas flow when it’s being carried in a toolbox or in a bin. While it may seem like overkill for simple torching tasks, a good tool makes the job so much quicker and easier. Huge recommendation for this for any mini torch needs.

I received my GB4001 last week, and have used it quite a bit over the weekend. Perfect size and weight - feels very substantial and well built. The range of flame sizes is nice, as is the ability to control the air inflow and thus the power of the 'torch', anywhere from regular lighter flame to large high-powered jet.Pretty easy to operate one handed, and the little stand is very nice. Hopefully the combo of bright blue anodize and large size will keep me from losing it like I do with every other lighter in the house!Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Easy to fill, use, and looks/feels/functions as well or better than expected. I'll update this review should problems arise, but I feel like this will stand the test of time quite well.

I am a professional goldsmith and I occasionally teach newbies. This is an excellent torch for someone new to soldering. It's small, easy to fill and adjust, and not scary to use. It will fuse Argentium nicely, and also solder Sterling Silver and copper wire as long as it's not a really heavy gauge. I haven't tried it on gold yet. It's great for balling up headpins and making rings and earrings. I even soldered right up next to small prongs without danger of melting them, which I was expecting to happen. Even bezels were safe with the flame right next to them. It doesn't burn nearly as hot at the oxy/acetylene that I normally use, so the fear factor is removed for someone just getting up the nerve to use fire for the first time. Of course it's still fire and safety precautions need to be followed, but it's a pretty safe torch. I like the fact that it locks. Comfortable to hold too. Initially I bought it for a specific demo, but wasn't able to get the really fine, small flame that I needed. But for general soldering it's great! I reach for it often for little stuff. I still use my oxy/acetylene for the bigger items that require a lot of heat.I would have given it 5 stars but I did experience the lighter not lighting every single time as some others have experienced, but it's not a big deal to me. It is a giant lighter, after all. Keep it away from the kids!!!!Also, order the triple refined butane for a smoother soldering experience because it sputters a little when used with regular butane. I could not find it locally. Rio Grande Jewelry Supply carries the Blazer brand triple refined, but you need to pay hazardous shipping charges.Still not sure? There are lots of videos on You tube showing this torch and how easy it is to use. There's even a good class for beginners featuring how to use butane torches on Craftsy.com.
