It takes a lot of fiddeling to make it work, but for the price it can do the job. Just when I got a more expensive one (not the top of the line) I understood how more fun it is to work with a tool which doesnt need so much fiddeling.

Unboxing this item you can immediately see that the build quality is not up to par. Adjustments were very loose, the blade was not very sharp and the appearance did not look professional.

Disappointed in this purchase. Sharpened the blade and tried to use for a project but after minor use the screw that the blade pivots on did not hold consistently. Would try to return but it's been used. Next time will spend more dollars for a better quality tool sold and shipped by amazon.

Mouth chipped at the first time of use just don’t waste your money and time on this.

The fore-sole adjustable mouth has fairly ominous flaws in the dovetail slide, and the wedge doesn't fit straight at all. However, once I sharpened the blade and tucked some tiny copper shims in, it works beautifully! Tackles end-grain like a champ!

3/14/2021:Done. Returned because of poor quality & functionality3/12/2021:There is no noticeable feel that the iron is engaged with the adjusting mechanism. Setup would be much easier if that was not the case. Are there replacement parts for this item?2/22/2021:This arrived in a plastic bag with everything loose and totally disassembled. I spent 10 minutes fumbling and found numerous issues:1. At the most retracted position the blade still is too far out (0.020" - see photos)2. The mouth has to be opened substantially to insert and tighten the blade (see photos3. The sole looks as if it was sanded with 36 grit sandpaper4. The lateral adjustment is crude and not capable of fine adjustment5. It is very cheaply madeI am retired and can afford to invest the time to work at making this functional. Watch for future edits.Edit 2/23/2021With about 10 additional minutes of fideling, I managed to adjust the blade enough to be able to make some shavings, albeit heavy, from a rescued piece of dense walnut firewood. The blade needs sharpened, the sole is in need of flatening. This is as I received the plane. Watch for future updates.

This plane is “ok” for someone’s first plane. The blade sharpens-up nicely, but the fit-and-finish are not so great. It is about like you’d expect from a tool made in India. Very much like a “Pakistani knife” - sharpens but crude and rough finish.
