I teetered on whether or not to buy this one, but for an apartment catio i wanted something tall. It felt quite heavy in the box, but once its assembled the weight is way more manageable. Assembly was easy, i managed to do it myself with onky the instructions. The clips that jold it together are ingenius the way they work and quite sturdy!I did see one review though that mentioned their feral cat got out withiut opening the door. So once i was done with assembly, i did find some spaces that if a cat was scared and desperate, it could like squeeze out between the secrions or the tops of the doors. To rectify this; i simply ziptied the worrisome spots. The ladders are practically useless however. Rather steep and where its just wire rungs, not comfortable for cats to climb. Putting some carpet over them might work, but my cats are just as happy to jump from platform to platform.Do not buy because of the hammock if this is for full grown cats. The hammock is comically small and would only work well for kittens for ferrets.Regardless of my nitpicking, it still work excellently for what i wanted it for and my kitties love smelling the fresh air safely on the balcony now from their catio cage.

This catio is great! It was better quality than I expected it would be. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, which is good. Itâs perfect and my kitten loves it.

Bought to store some cats in for a hour or so while our house was being viewed for sale. It did the trick and was room enough for a litter box at the bottom and two cats to house for a little bit. Good Price. Easy enough to build just takes a bit with all the clips.

I got this originally because I had a rescue kitten and I thought I was going to have more kittens to foster, but have only really been using it for the one kitten (now nearly adult) when I needed to give him "time out" from my other cats.It works fine in this capacity. I had no real trouble putting it together. It does shake quite a bit and make a lot of noise when cats move around in it. But those are minor complaints. One of my younger adult female cats even likes to go in there and sleep on the top platform when she wants to hide out. It's not bad! However, I'm writing this review as a warning because I didn't see any other reviews that had the problem I just experienced. My boyfriend and I have been trying to catch a lost cat in our area that we see come through our yard, and as we have done TNR a couple times on ferals who frequent our yard, we figured we could handle it if we do capture another feral. However, last night we caught a small feral tabby cat and since we didn't have an appointment for neuter and vaccine, we'd need to keep him for potentially a week or more and I couldn't stand the thought of him being in that tiny live trap for so long. So I suggested we put him into this kennel. We prepared a litter box, etc. Got him set up in a quiet entry hallway cordoned off by a black curtain and it seemed ok. He climbed the sides of the kennel and thrashed around and made a mess spilling food and litter and water all over the floor of the kennel but that happens, figured he'd get it out of his system and clean it up and replenish his food in the morning. Not what happened. Somehow during the night he got out. I woke up to my oldest girl cat howling and chasing him through the house. He kept trying to go through screen windows. My 4 cats all very disturbed and interested as we tried to figure out how the hell to coax him out a door.Eventually got him out, no injuries occurred, unless he injured himself in his Houdini escape. Not apparent how he got out. The three doors were all closed and locks engaged, didn't find any wires visibly bent. My conclusion is that a wild enough feral cat can force himself through some part of this kennel if it wants to. It makes me question if it is really even suitable for kittens; this was an adult cat, albeit small, so there's no way a determined kitten couldn't perform the same feat! So beware!!

This is a great if youâre looking for a safe place for your cat /cats to go into outside on a patio. My cat absolutely loves it and itâs tall so it can easily fit in a corner section of your deck or patio if you are in a apartment. I think it would only fit two cats comfortably. Itâs all steel with three openings. The only thing I donât like is that the hammock should be bigger at the top of the cage. Overall good product easy set up for the price.

I rescue animals and right now I have 12 cats. I use crates and cages to quarantine and allow time to acclimate.I have 2 feral rescues, both over a year old and both very light weight. The youngest is a wild little monkey who loves climbing the sides of the cage. This isnât the sturdiest cage but I think itâs just right for kittens and small/lightweight cats under 8lbs. Zip ties and cage clips are a great solution to increase stability. If youâre handy and willing to invest additional time and money to improve sturdiness, you can always reinforce the interior corners with some type of brace such as rods, wood pieces or metal. You likely have 4 items of some sort already around the house.I also feel it would be a good option for a larger or older cat that isnât hyperactive. It was a bit time consuming to assemble but that was partially due to the fact that I had curious kitties surrounding me during the process. Once I assembled the first section I had the hang of it and it was fairly easy from that point.I would recommend separating all the pieces, including the hardware, into stacks. I did this to inventory what I received compared to what was listed on the instructions/parts list. I put all pieces on the floor in the same order as the instructions. For example; 2 of part A, 4 of part B, etc. That made it easier to go straight to the stack I needed and I think assembly was quicker and more efficient.Itâs easy to become frustrated with the process and determine the item is less than expected. My process of organizing pieces in order first made it easier for me. Figure out what works best for the way you process information. Wait until youâre relaxed and have an hour or two free time and conquer the day!NOTE: The cage was a bit wobbly in a couple of sections. I realized I had not put the clips on correctly. Once I corrected my error the issue was resolved. Itâs not Fort Knox but it works for me.If you want a higher quality product you should expect to pay much more for it. I intend to order another one of these next month.

Update: 24 April 2022 Still holding up strong. Lasted another litter of kittens. In fairness both were small litters(3 and 2). They are now 2 years old and still go in and hang out in the hammocks. Or sleep on top of it. Helpful if I need to contain them for an hour or two for whatever reason.Highly recommend getting the container to attach to side for food and water helped for food time having one on each level to make sure everyone got food and not fighting over one.Got for the kittens for when I have to go back to work. Helped significantly with litter box training. Wish I would have got it from the beginning. I feed them in there and leave them for a few hours after so they are going to the bathroom in the litterbox. I have a water bottle that attaches to the crate for them to drink. I also bought additional cushions and hammock(so you have some for when you clean the others, optional). The kittens really love the double hammock so if you have multiple kittens would recommend. Over all it is effective for what I got it for. Keep the kittens contained, and get them litterbox trained. Side note first time kitten parent Pellets suck just use regular litter(my kittens preferred it). It's big enough that they are 3 months and still have plenty of room. I saw other reviews that they bought two to make a larger crate. Again depends on how many you have.Putting together. Took a second to get used to how to put the connectors on, might want to practice before starting. If you have nails Good Luck. But after that it was pretty smooth sailing. Might be easier with 2 people but I did it just fine by myself. Though containing the kittens while putting together is helpful. If you have newborn+ kittens or excepting kittens. Get this ASAP. Life safer I promise. Also if you have dogs helps separate but get them familiar with each other.
