I opened the box and found out it was one that someone else returned, couldn’t compress a sliced lemon, better off to just buy the sketchy style widow maker strut spring compressor. Don’t be stuck with an overpriced coverall hanger

This thing is awesome! I have been working on 2 of my cars that needed suspension work. Never again will I fear compressing springs with those little side clamps. This spring compressor is easy to use, safe, and quick! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone working on their own suspension.

Complete and utter garbage. Tried to compress a 600lb spring. The arm holding the fingers bent to the point where it was completely unsafe and we had to use our old spring compressor. This thing is an absolute hazard and shouldn't be used on anything stronger than a motorcycle spring. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The item is sturdy and went together ok. A couple of holes for bolt did not line up well, but worked. It is a rather crudely built item, however a better one was much more expensive. If I had a shop where I removed struts regularly, I’d invest in a higher quality machine. It comes with two sizes of spring clamp. It would be great if they designed a storage spot on the machine to keep the unused clamps together with the machine. This is much better than using the two rod and hook type of strut clamps. They are much more difficult and much slower to use. I’d say this item is ok for the occasional user.

I'M NOT EXACTLY SURE HOW THEY RATE THIS THING 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️I tried compressing a 600lb coil for a Tacoma and it bent in half, it says 6600lb load capacity, it also claimed to be able to handle 3-4 time the safety rating, IF YOU EVER REACHED 6600LBS this thing would KIL SOMEONE.😢Part of me wants to have them replace it over and over for being massive liars, maybe this would work on very light duty compact car coils, but I don't want to see a 1ton coil go in this let alone a full size SUV like they show in their advertising.I wish I could show pics but Amazon permissions are being dumb, I cannot begin to explain how many things failed on this, the overall design isn't half bad but the MATERIALS they used are literally weaker than a kitchen spoon.😒

Great idea for what is meant for however it needs improvements in a few areas.1. Shipping and packing could have been done a lot better. My package arrived from UPS it arrived fully taped up from top to bottom holding the box together so it won't bust. (use your imagination its UPS)2. Assembly also needs improvement where some of the holes for the screws are not properly aligned for stable stand without wobble.3. Assembly instructions should be more than just one paper with a diagram.4. As you can see on the first picture buyers be wary it will arrive damaged and scraped. Thus, decent product for its use however I have not heard back from seller for improvements of damages.

Put it all together and to be honest I'd be scared to use this thing to compress a coil spring. The welds are amateur at best, the red paint you see in the pictures is only on the visible areas outside on the inside its not painted at all and has already begun to rust, the holes for the feet plates are misaligned so it wobbles, holes that mount the hydraulic jack to the plate are too big for the provided mount bolts so i had to add larger washers to prevent the bolts from pulling through, and it appears to have leaked hydraulic fluid during shipping. Requested to return it after explaining the issues with it and the seller agreed. The best part out of all of this ( sarcasm ) is the seller won't cover shipping and with this items size and weight it will cost me $155 to ship it back and that's the cheapest shipping rate, I paid $132 for it at the time of purchase. so it will literally cost me more to send this piece of junk back than it would to buy a whole new one.BUY AND USE THIS PRODUCT AT YOU OWN RISK.

So the tool itself is great for the price, however the chain they provide to hold the strut does not hold the strut very well. I had to use a heavy duty ratchet strap to hold the strut to the spring compressor. Only other thing I can say is I wish the chain and the base gets redesigned or added to, when you put the heavy strut on the strut compressor will start to lean forward and not stay straight. All in all it was a nice tool especially at the price and I was able to do the Struts on my Subaru. Once i got the ratchet strap on their I flew through the 4 struts in about 45 minutes.
