I have yet to use. I have put it on the shelf for when I do. BUT, I inspected it carefully upon its arrival and can attest to the compressor being the real deal. It is made correctly and made well.Highly Recommended.

Was skeptical given the cost, but overall the unit is pretty good.Disassembly revealed the drive screws are bearing supported so the unit compresses like silk given the square cut threads. 3/4" hex drive. The spring perches were wide enough to not chafe the paint off the strut or coil.Buy again if I needed too.

I have used the old fashoined compressors in the past, they look like a threaded rod with hooks on the ends. Frankly those always freak me out because they will flex and bow.I used these to remove the front springs from the strut assemblies on a HHR, (I ended up just replacing the entire assembly anyways, but..) These performed nicely. The only possible issues I can see with these is they are Bulky. The overall thickness may limit these to off-vehicle use only. I don't know if these would clear the control arms on a standard upper/lower control arm vehicle. Also they CAN BE completley screwed apart! You cant see the inner rod as it's being unscrewed/loosened because it's hidden in the tube, so you don't know exactly how much further you can turn before it lets loose.Overall it's a nice tool and with some carefu use it will work for disassembling the strut assemblies on a typical car. I think they are a good value.

Worked out great, and made changing struts safer due to the added safety attachment
