This access door is some piece of hardware. It is designed for a wall that is rated for and intended to keep fire out; that is not your typical drywall residential house. This would be for a fire containment room, or a fire rated lab, etc. This could possibly be used for a panic room in a high end residential home, however while fire would not get through it, a human could get through it with some effort.The door is nearly 2" thick, and the rest of the hardware is as described.LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and it's a globally recognized rating system for sustainable buildings.

This Access Door by Best Access Doors is a well-designed solid door. I love the fact that they proudly list all the certifications with different entities that they have. The frame and door are quite thick, and the door mechanisms work well. It is very versatile with giving you the option of it being a locked access door or not. It’s easy to install and the directions are clear. An added bonus is the fact that it’s made in North America as opposed to China.
