Well if you use it with cap it will be great. The cap is very shiny chrome. Looks beautiful. But in my case I wanted to use it without cap and with my own stainless steel strainer inserted (without screw); and the main body looks like zinc plating; dull and matte. Think old chain link fence. It is also curved "mushroom looking profile), and not angular. It is not made for standalone. If you are always planning to use provided strainer all the time it will look great. Main body metal is very thin, and the strainer fits somewhat large over main body.

I was having problems finding a bathtub drain shoe that would fit. With the adapter, this one fits and the cost isn't bad. The only thing is I paid an extra $2 for the Brushed Nickel version ($15.99) instead of the Chrome ($13.99) but the product I received was the Chrome one. The box is marked as BN (which I assume means Brushed Nickel) but it was Chrome not Brushed Nickel.
