As you can see the shelf mounts on the legs, I set the top of the shelf even with the top edge of the legs.I used a dewalt cordless drill with a dewalt bit guide to hold the bit and screw because the way the brackets are you need an extension4 self drilling screws are providedThe Classic has 2 utensil pegs which you can remove because they are no longer accessibleTotal time to install 10 minutes

It's too bad Pitboss doesn't market and sell these accessories. I had to use a few nuts to get the angle right to the legs. The shelf seems sturdy enough. I won't be putting a 25 lbs turkey on it, but this will work nicely for grilling tools and spices.

I received the package and there were no screws included as was promised in the item details. Of course I didn’t see the other reviews calling this issue out.

Love it. The only Suggestion I would have is to use Stainless Self Tapping Screws (#8 or #10). The screws that came with it are a little weak. I have a Pit Boss Classic and it looks and functions awesome.

I took a risk for my Pit Boss Sportsman XL 1000 even though it says it isn’t designed for it. Was pretty simple to attach by drilling 4 pilot holes and using the self tapping screws that are provided. Works great and I am very pleased that I have added some more shelf space to my smoker.

This is a solid, well made shelf. It comes without instructions, but found installation video on You Tube. The shelf needs spacers for the top screws so that it is level when installed.
