Taking the back off the unit was easy enough. I had separate torx wrenches and didn't even try the included wrench. However the clip that attaches the battery to the circuit board does not securely fit. Tried it for a month or so but it kept coming loose. The clip does not seat properly like the original battery clip does. The original clip "clicks" into place where this battery clip does not. Ended up putting the old battery back in, and since I was passed the return window, I cannot return this useless unit.

The included screwdriver is made of soft metal and it strips on the first screw removal. The battery is rated at 1200mah instead of the original1500mah. The battery connector does not connect/disconnect as easy as the video demonstrates.

Replaced the battery in my Garmin Nuevi 2597LMT. Watched the Video on the CD first. Even though the sticker on the CD said 2597 there was a video for 2797 on it. Not a big problem though, replacement was pretty easy and took me under 10 minutes. New battery appeared to be a little bit longer so it just fits in the spot of the old battery.

This battery is better than the original. It holds a charge longer and was relatively easy to install. The included installation instructions are exact. The most difficult part is seeing the end of the connector to plug it back in to the new battery. I had to use a magnifying glass to see. The battery is taped down inside which was hard to unstick but it is do able with caution. The kit includes the tools need to install. Well worth the money.
