The little screwdriver is helpful to remove and install the screws. One screw hole got magically stripped by simply removing the screw. The plastic 'tools' are garbage. Fell apart, crumbled, bent uselessly when you tried to use them to pry open the housings. I used two small screwdrivers to pry open the housings. 4 stars because the battery charged up overnight, but can't give it 5 stars due to the turd-like 'tools.'

Takes about 2 minutes to replace the battery if you know what you're doing. Quite a bit longer if you don't.Provided tools are very cheaply made, but more than sufficient for a single use.

Tools supplied with product not sufficient to replace battery. Plastic tool inadequate. Screw diver stripped screws. Could not replace battery.

I have an aging Garmin Nuvi 1450 that stopped working due to battery failure. I discovered this when I tried to do an update to a new version of maps. Even though it was plugged into my computer, it wouldn't turn on.Since I have unlimited map updates from Garmin at no extra charge, I wanted to get this navigator operational again. That's why I got this battery.First, I watched the Internet videos that shows the process of replacing the battery with this one. Since this can be a risky process, I only recommend it if your device would otherwise be thrown out. In that case you have nothing to lose other than the minimal cost of this battery.I followed the replacement process and it worked. I am very happy about this. The battery even showed a full charge on startup. The tools that came with the battery are of minimal quality so I used my own T5 driver, plastic pry bars and guitar pick.After the battery installation, I updated the navigator to the newest version of maps and software. The update worked flawlessly.If you have a navigator that has a dead battery and is out of warranty, I highly recommend this replacement battery if it fits your device. It breathed new life into my Nuvi 1450.

Battery and accompanying tools arrived promptly. Prying tools were rather anemic and as a result, used my own flat head screwdriver for prying. Installed new battery, and Garmin did not respond. Reinstalled old battery and Garmin did activate with "Low Battery" warning. Obviously, replacement battery is defective. Also, battery leads from new battery are located on the opposite side from what was installed on the old battery. Will need to contact Amazon for replacement under warrantee.

Batteries came 1 full charged 1 3/4 charged..as others have stated the plastic tools are kind of weak. I found that inserting a small knife blade first to separate a small opening then insert the plastic tool and slide it around the edges seemed to work pretty good but you really can't pry with the tools. Be prepared to pry the old battery out as it is stuck very good with some kind of "nuclear" tape.. Don't use the outer edge of your case for leverage to pry on the battery as you will probably deform or break the edge of you GPS case . The one issue i wasn't completely happy with was the plugs. They didn't snap into position and one of them was quite loose I guess time will tell if they will stay in. Shipping was quick and packaging was good. Would buy again if needed.

This is the same battery for the Nuvi 1300 and 1400 series. I have both and they are interchangeable. They said they provide an installation tool and they do. The screwdriver is not the T5 Torx that you need but it is a tool - ha ha. Be sure to have a T5 Torx on hand and the screw will come out buttery smooth. Youtube has helpful videos and seeing is believing. disassembly was easy and so was the replacement. Note the battery is glued down tight, be careful not to pry against the sides as they will probably break. I used lots of patience and slow pressure. The battery fit perfect and was fully charged.
