What's head collar?
A head halter is a tool used to help teach dogs to walk nicely on a leash. This soft but sturdy headcollar imitated from traditional horse halter-where the nose goes, the body will follow. When the dog pulls ahead of you on a walk, his head is turned back toward you. It removes dogs' natural tendency to pull on the leash by placing gentle pressure on calming points and eliminating uncomfortable pressure on the throat. The safety link secures the headcollar for added security & safety. Thread the link through the headcollar's ring and attach the link's trigger hook to the D-ring of the dog's regular collar. This reduces the possibility of anxious/boisterous pets being able to remove the headcollar and run off.

Q1: Will this work for a German Shepherd?
A2: This headcollar fits every long snout dog. Breed reference of the size chart does NOT directly correspond to your pet's breed or weight. Please MEASURE your pet's snout circumference and neck circumference and refer to our size guide for the best fit before ordering, rather than choosing a size based on experience.
Q2: How do head collars work?
Q2: First of all, head halters attached to the dog leashes and collar are tools designed to help you control your dog by guiding its head, just as halters and lead ropes are used to help control horses. An animal tends to go where its head goes. So, if the dog wants to pull on the leash and its head can’t move, it can’t pull you so well. If the dog wants to head in one direction and you want to go in another, gently (but not daintily) guide its head in the direction you want to lead the pet.
Q3: How do I use head halters to help manage undesirable behaviors?
A3: The head halter can also serve as a tool to interrupt undesirable behavior and achieve the desirable response during training. For example, the head halter and leash can be used to prompt the dog to be quiet when barking. Similarly, a pull on the leash can be used to immediately curtail pulling, barking, chewing, stealing, stool eating, and some forms of aggression. With a long leash left attached, the head halter can also be used to interrupt behaviors from afar such as garbage raiding or digging.

Bought the XL for my cane corso. He's 1yr old and was pulling when he gets excited. This soft lead has him knowing to hold back. Quality product. Very durable material.

The product is made fine, but our dog would not wear. She literally would not move one inch until we removed it from her face/nose.

I have a Poodle/Terrier mix with a short snout. This product was well built and would have been great, but, my little guy's snout is so short he could easily get the nose strap off....so, he was left with only the neck strap most of the time. This is certainly not a defect in the product. I would recommend this Muzzle leash for most dogs...but, not mine.

It was too small and caused her to rub her head in the dirt/grass, scratching her nose pretty badly. My neighbor saw us and said she tried a similar harness and her dog scratched its eye trying to rub its head in a similar way. Be careful! If you use it, don’t let your dog rub its head to try to get it off. It is a well made harness. If you have used one before and it works, it’s probably worth the money based on how it’s made. Just didn’t work for us.

This product broke within a week of buying it. I only used it a few times when it broke while I was walking my dog. I do not recommend that anyone buy this product. The leash leader worked great and my dog was no longer pulling, just recommend buying a different one.

This is my 65 lb Bluetick hound dog. I bought a medium. Possibly could go up one size but the medium worked great but was at almost max size. We have hiked and gone on walks and she is unable to pull hard. It tightens if I pull hard, so I also used a chest harness with a leash so I don’t wrench on her face all the time.

I am in love with this product. It is made very well. Fit is adjustable by tightening the head clasp. Amazing how it works. Dogs are able to drink, eat, and bark if you let the muzzle part loosen. Very easy to use. Follow directions on how to start use with your dog. I have a very head strong stubborn 1 year old corgie mix that will pull till he chokes himself out. But no more. I have tried everything. This was my last resort. It's amazing. My dog has not pulled once. Not at all. I've tried every thing else. Spiked training choker collar. Harness with chest loop. Choker collar, double collars everything , also every type of harnesses. but my prayers have been answered. We love this product. No choking, pulling, tearing my shoulders no more, !!! It's padded across muzzle . My dog has not been able to get it off not from lack of trying, he's getting used to it already in 1 day. Have a great day. 👍🏼 also the extra strap it shows you can hook to their collar but I just hook his leash to it instead of hooking to his regular collar. Works perfect. Looks great and is very comfortable for the animal.

I did a lot of research on the type of head harness I wanted. I originally ordered another brand but I needed it quickly and Amazon suddenly changed the shipping and arrival times to days later than I wanted, and even though it hadn't shipped yet, they wouldn't let me cancel it, so I will have to return it. In the meantime I ordered this harness and am extremely pleased with it. My 1 3/4 year old White Shepherd cross is a crazy puller. Crazy. So I completely followed the instructions for this harness, including LOTS of treats, and I'm SO grateful for it. Lulu really doesn't care for it, and she occasionally tries to rub it off, so I'm hyper aware even though it has a safety attachment to the collar. I know she'll get used to it. It has made a world of difference to me. I'm able to walk her without that jerking and insane pulling! The sizing was great, and I didn't even have to adjust it. Now I'll be able to listen to podcasts and calmly walk her without her suddenly trying to dart across the street to get to another dog, squirrel, bird, bike, scary Halloween deco, or unusual scent! 😂 Whew! Thank you!

The reflective stitching adds extra safety. It's strong, really well made and has sufficient padding for my big babies nose. Highly recommend!!

We really like this gentle leader. The larger straps with more form seem to be more comfortable for Stanley, our 75lb Poodle, than the simple fabric ones. He doesn't try rubbing it off of his head near as much. It's also easier to size than the last one. We also like the fact that the piece that goes across his muzzle area is well padded.It has greatly reduced the amount of pulling he does with little to no apparent discomfort for him. Only time it seems to be uncomfortable is when he tries to go after a rabbit, which one would expect.This has worked WAY better for minimizing pulling than the harness or martingale. He's too big and strong to be turned around by the harness.It's not chewproof but what collar is outside of a chain? It's not meant as a chew toy. If it's fitted properly, they are unable to chew on it. We do recommend this if your pup has a tendency to pull. Stanley may eventually graduate and be able to walk using a normal collar after using this for a bit longer.
