My dog has severe anxiety with having her nails cut, otherwise she is the friendly and well trained. I was hopeful that using this style of muzzle and putting peanut butter in the snap on mouth piece would help keep her distracted while I tried to clip her nails, and would serve as any other muzzle is intended to to keep her from biting at my hands to try and prevent me from completing the task. I measured her snout prior to purchasing to ensure I ordered the correct size. I tightened all straps for a secure fit, according to instructions. My girl is powerful and she was in panic mode, so I do not hold the manufacturer responsible for her easily removing the snap on mouth piece. I do consider it a serious design flaw that she was able to bite my hand after she removed the muzzle. Being able to lick peanut butter from the mouth piece will hopefully provide a distraction for less stressful situations, like getting an injection. I would not use this product when dog is going to be stressed, or on an aggressive dog as they can bite the caregiver or a passerby.

Poor quality food addition to geldings adjust. The snaps fall off before your first attempt to put on the dog. Returned and the second one had the same issue.

I do not like dog muscles I think they're restrictive and inappropriate personally , but I live in a world where I walk in places where I need them because they're required by other people and it's a perfectly fine alternative to an Elizabethan collar for surgical stitches . This is a good product , See picture perfect training device. it's great with the peanut butter cup, and it inspires dog confidence and love. I have to say this is a great product for this and this alone. Three sets of three seconds and the dog is ready and hooked on the idea of a muzzle. But the manufacturer quality is not very good. The straps have been ironed and unusual ways that don't lay right like it got trapped in the Heat and cutting machine for nylon straps. And the snap rivets for the peanut butter cup didn't even survive before I held it up to the first dog nose. the rivets just don't last they fell right out, they weren't crimped tight enough. But I almost don't care that it's made of low quality materials because I know I'll be able to replace this muzzle with one that works structurally. In my opinion the hard part is getting the dog to gracefully except and love the muzzle in a way that doesn't break my free spirit while I watch them have theirs broken. I've made the dogs love and prepare to use a muzzle in one evening with this thing that's worth Stars even if I'm dissatisfied with its quality.

I like the strengthof this muzzle it held up to my dog who tends to chew through muzzles. It was easy to put on, and it was strong. I highly recommend it for aggressive dogs.

I have a rescued English bulldog who's still figuring out how to be a pet dog instead of a stray, so he still wants to pick up EVERYTHING he sees and try to eat it.The vet recommended using a basket muzzle as a humane way to keep him from ingesting everything in sight. I tried a hard rubber one but he really doesn't like it, and when I try to give him treats, he tends to drop them through the spaces. He also has a wire one with a leather strap for padding over the nose; that one is specifically made for short-snouted dogs like bulldogs, but the leather strap doesn't fit inside the wire and tends to ride up into his eyes, which he REALLY doesn't like. It also has the same issue of treats falling through the spaces as the first one. This one is hard rubber and while it's not specifically made for short bulldog snouts, I've been able to shape it by boiling it, letting it cool for a minute or two, and molding it to the shape I need. (It took three or four times to get it how I wanted.)When I first put it on him, he wasn't thrilled... but then I smeared a little peanut butter on the snap-on slow feeder and attached it. That was all it took! The slow feeder makes ALL the difference because if I need him to wear the muzzle, I can put a little peanut butter or treat paste in the feeder and it'll keep him distracted for a while - even after he licks up all his treat, he'll keep at it for a while just to make sure he got it all. It also lets me give him small treats without him dropping them. This has made muzzle time much more enjoyable for both of us, and I don't have to worry about him picking up random stuff and eating it.
