I have now a mix of four of this brand's meters and they are all nicely done for a budget price.

The first thing that you need to know is how to properly connect an ammeter, which is in parallel with the shunt. Connect the positive lead from the battery to one end of the shunt. Connect the other end of the shunt to the load, i.e., the appliance, that you are powering. At this stage your appliance will work like before. The only difference is that current flows through the shunt instead of directly through the wire. Now, connect the meter to the shunt. The back of the meter is marked plus and minus. Connect the plus post to the same side of the shunt to which you connected the positive lead in the first step. Then, connect the minus post to the other end of the shunt, where you connected the wire carrying current in step two. If you are careless and connect the leads the other way around the needle may swing the wrong way and damage the meter. The diagram is for a voltmeter and an ammeter, as I installed both to monitor output from my solar array. The meter seems to be good quality with an attractive appearance and is easy to read. Also, easy to install. It is easier and more accurate if you first make a paper template and then use it to properly position the meter and drill the holes.

Got this for an atx power supply build. Not much to say... It works like it should, built well, and accurate. Came with the shunt as well. They didnt send the 4" of wire required, but also forgot to include the dancing girls. Go figure. Other than that, great product from a great merchant.

Used to measure the 12v current from my SUV hitch connector to the trailer.Works nicely and seems accurate enough for my use.Make sure to use heavy gauge wire. 10AWG is what I used. That lessens the voltage drop and provide a little more current measuring accuracy.

These panel meters were tested and found to function properly. The display is clear and easy to read. The panel meters are plastic encased and lightweight. Our friends in China at Baomain have once again produced a quality product at an affordable price. These meters arrived along with two volt meters from Baomain and the packaging was better than I see from most domestic shippers. Four outer layer of bubble wrap invidually boxed inside a larger box with foam and even foam inside the individual meter boxes. These came direct from China so allow some time for delivery which includes delay at our USPS International Sorting Centers.
