If you are looking for a trim fit, running/biking/hiking jacket this is a very good option. I run on the roads and appreciate the very bright color. Medium fits me well and I am 5'11" about 170lb.

The jacket appears mostly black, though some sections have a slight sheen that doesn't photograph well, making it look uneven in pictures. I ride an e-bike, so I'm usually moving faster and sweating less than manual cyclists. The airflow is decent—when I'm at speed, air circulates through the jacket, keeping me comfortable at around 65°F, with a layer underneath, it's great. However, I wouldn't recommend it for colder weather below 60°F unless you're doing strenuous physical activity. In the thinner sections, (in the photo)you can see light pass through the fabric, and it also lets air pass through. Overall, I like the fit—it's sleek, not bulky, and feels high-quality. The fabric folds compactly and is very lightweight, making it feel weightless in a backpack.I went back and forth about sending it back but decided to keep it.

I searched for winter cycling jackets. Found two that were 4x expensive (>$200) but did not fit me. I'm 5'9" and 170 - the Baleaf large fits fine. I ride in temperatures at or below 30°. I wear a Pactimo base layer and a lightweight merino shirt. If its really windy I will add a Baleaf light vest. This combination keeps me warm. Sometimes too warm - particularly on long hills. The two upper zippers open up to what amount to vents. Not as good as pit zips but helpful. (I will shed the vest to keep cooler.) In addition to side pockets, the jacket has two back pockets. When I stop to eat, this storage is used for my phone, bike computer, and gloves. Very convenient to have all these items in the jacket. The zipper pulls on the pockets are tiny and can be difficult to use. When I need to adjust the vent zippers, I have to stop and remove my gloves - kind of routine for winter riding as I do it. It's a great value at this price.

I like this jacket a lot. It's most importantly warm, it looks good, it fits well, and it has high-viz elements on it. It's not just my biking jacket, it's become my default winter jacket.

My wife purchased this jacket for me in Oct of 2023. I have ridden my bicycle ~675 miles in Indiana winter (Oct 2023-April 2024) wearing this jacket. It is wind proof and has some thermal protection. Many times, I did wear multiple layers under this jacket. This allowed me to dress for the weather and stay comfortable without overheating while riding. I rode in temperatures as low as 16 degrees Fahrenheit wearing this jacket. The neck opening is big enough to allow me to tuck in my balaclava and not be too tight. The elastic around the cuffs and waist is tight enough to seal but not so tight that is cuts off circulation. I love the zipper vents on the front of the jacket. They allow you to let in cooling airflow to prevent overheating when you have worn too many layers or climbing that big hill. Although it is not advertised as waterproof, it did keep me dry when I was caught in drizzling rain in 40-degree weather In December. The pictures in the dark are after I completed my goal of 2000 miles in 2023. The picture in the rain is after I reached my second goal of 2023 miles in December of 2023.
