I used 1/8" for cracks in my concrete driveway for backing. Worked very well with liquid concrete filler.

It’s soft, stretchy, spongy, and flexible. The diameter is consistent. The color is a nice light-medium gray. I actually got this to use as trim in a miniature house, and it worked perfectly.

I actually used this to half fill the gap between my tub and floor because our old house has double subflooring that leaves the floor pretty high, leaving me with either putting a ton of caulk in there, which I don’t want to do, or, using this, needing to use less caulking, which will allow it to dry faster. One thing to note is that this is a filler, so you have to push it into the space so it can be held in. This will not stick to a surface so you have to make sure that the crack is appropriate for the use.

This backing rod will work well when it comes time to fill cracks and crevices prior to calking around windows for the winter. It helps bill the wider spans and lessens the amount of calk needed. This backing rod is flexible, compressible, but yet firm to where it can be easily inserted into each individual crack.I recommend this product.

Good solid material. Pretty dense and hard to cut or tear. Should work very well for my use.

I got this 1/4 foam backer rod from UOU and must admit that I hadn't read much of the description since I was just looking for a foam backer to put into some undersized gaps along sections of a new laminate floor I am installing at home. Most of my edge clearance expansion gaps are 1/4 inch and therefore take a 3/8 foam backer compressed into that. A few smaller spaces needed a smaller foam backer, therefore this 1/4 inch selection. This 1/4 backer is a foamed EPDM rubber, and in comparison to the other foamed air most places sell, this is a pretty high density and very nice backer material. It works fine for me in the smaller spaces, but where I have true 1/4 inch gaps it will also work because it's density is high enough to hold it in place.I can see how this would work well where a higher strength foam compression can be created to functionally exist for a long time without taking a permanent set. Not an issue for me here but a good characteristic for other purchasers to be aware of.

This U0U 1/4 Inch Foam Backer Rod is just what I needed to fill some deep cracks where I needed to caulk around doors and windows. In some places the cracks were very deep, and I was able to push this backer rod in first so that I didn't need to use so much caulk. This is a fairly standard type of product, but this particular one has some qualities that set it apart. The material is a very dense foam (EPDM, according to the seller), unlike the cheap foam other backer rod I have used is made of. I did not need a waterproof material, but this looks like it would be more water resistant than the cheap foam backer rods. Because it is dense, this backer rod should do a better job of sealing out cold or hot as well. The rod appears to be uniform in thickness throughout the roll. It is more expensive than some less dense, lightweight backer rod, but the extra expense is worth it if a heavier, denser rod is needed. I like this product and give it five stars.

Used this and 3/8" backer rod with hollow plastic tubing (to allow air movement) within assembled golf shaft) in conjunction with lead tape. Swingweight golf club but also gives feeling of a heavier shaft.Heated a nail and passed it through the backer rod to allow the tubing to pass through. 1" of backer rod, 1" space (for rolled lead tape), 1" of backer rod, 1" of space, etc.
