Chinese junk strikes again. 2 weeks being installed. I used two of these hinges for my greenhouse and the hinge ripped through the thin metal frame. Lid is definitely nowhere near max weight. Garbage. Update two days later one of the cylinders exploded the end seal out of it on a 65 degree day. DO NOT BUY THESE JUNK THINGS. You will regret it.

I sure didn't understand how it work, and I probably still don't, but work it does! When it gets hot in the greenhouse, the arm extends and the roof hatch is opened to allow more air into the greenhouse. I thought that I would have to have electricity to get this kind of functionality, but nope, it works all by itself based on temperature.It was not really a joy to get it installed, but they included enough extra hardware so that I was able to pull it off. However, your mileage may vary!

These are easy to install (despite the instructions making it seem more complicated than it should be). I have a small, janky greenhouse/conservatory and yet the hinge bolt holes were nearly perfect for my installation. Once installed they have been a game changer for temperature regulation and I only wish I had done this sooner.

I added this to our greenhouse kit at the start based on others' reviews. It opens when the temperature inside goes up and closes when the temperature goes down. It was simple to install and is adjustable. I did find a video online that further helped explain installation. I would definitely recommend.

This vent opener works. However the instructions are awful so read reviews and look at review photos to help. The first thing is that nowhere in the instructions does it explain to thread the rod into the round swivel nut. It’s seems obvious because of the threading but is not in instruction and hard to do. If you think it will never thread, just keep trying. Eventually you’ll get it. Another thing is that it is unlikely to fit perfectly so you will probably need to cut a piece and add in some wood to adjust the space to secure correctly. Lastly, it may be harder to install with the opener in an open position as it will be when you put it together. If you want it closed before you install, just put it in the freezer for a bit and it will close up.

I installed these 3 days ago in an 8’ x 10’ hobby greenhouse. Our temperatures are in the 40s at night and 70-80 daytime. So far they have closed the roof windows by about 7 pm and they open as the greenhouse heats up in the morning. The installation instructions are hard to follow and I mostly ignored them. The first step was to attach 2 brackets. I couldn’t figure out what they were for, so I didn’t use them. They don’t seem to have been necessary for my application. The pin that holds the piston in place didn’t fit the holes it was supposed to go into. I ground it down rather than drill out the holes, but I suppose one could do either. The pin got in the way of the widow closing all the way, so I had to cut the top of it off. If you’re handy, you can probably install these. I gave the product a 5 rating despite the poorly written and illustrated instructions.

Bought the palram opener figuring it would work best with the same brand greenhouse. Worked for a day, then it froze up. Tried to snap it out of place, ended up busting open spraying hot wax all over my eye. Decided to go with this one since it was half the price and highly rated. Not only has it worked flawlessly, but I like that if I ever have issues I can JUST replace the cylinder. Also if I ever need to test the cylinder to verify it's still retracting I can stick a cold bottle of water over it.

Ersatte en snarlik som efter ett antal år inte längre fungerade tillfredställande. Den här är exakt likadan men försedd med en fjäder som ser till att fönsterluckan stängs ordentligt när temperaturen faller. Öppnare utan fjäder bygger helt på att tyngden av själva luckan skall räcka för att återgå till helt stängt läge. Lätt att montera fast jag hade ju gjort detta innan. Vad som förvånade mig var avsaknad av viktig information i bruksanvisningen, nämligen att man innan vintern demonterar och tar in själva kolven då den kan skadas av lägre köldgrader.
