For a videographer, this is a must-have. Clean recordings in HDMI output, external SSD for editing, loading LUTs. And the portable recorder seems solid. Quite a few accessories are required which inflates the price quite a bit.You can zoom in on the monitor screen while recording, which is very practical for filming in 4k.I have not had any problems but the device heats up a lot after about 30 minutes of use.It is possible to record a video during a photo shoot.A few years ago, I used an atomos ninja 2 and I was happy with it.Now I use it with a Nikon Z6ii and it works perfectly.you need an SSD and 1 or 2 batteries and 2 adaptershttps://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B0B2K2LGNYhttps://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B09PFVRMYL

The monitor over exposed every video when shooting in clog 6k raw. Customer support doesn't know their own product and will try to sell you things you don't need as solutions instead of solving your problem. Try a different solution than this monitor

Thought the unit was dead.. its supposed to start with USB-C PD.. It does not, it wont communicate properly. A dumb DC brick works fine with the included adapter tho check voltage, it wants about 3.5A for messing around. a FP 550 battery lasts for about 20min, a V mount like 50wh powers the camera and the display for about 6 hours. I’m relatively new to this profession but unfortunately the product comes with very little help from the manufacturer. I tried to contact them with issues but unfortunately they only communicate through email. On this aspect I give them 0 stars but as for quality after I have to figure everything out I give them a 5 stars on quality.

I returned this monitor due to the loudness of its fan, you also need to purchase a separate SSD if your camera can’t record log internally. It’s been more than 3 weeks and I yet to have gotten my refund. It frustrates me because Christmas Black Friday is around the corner and I haven’t heard anything about my return yet.

I have the Ninja V and now this. I love this one. With the new UI update and included codec packages you can't beat it. Sure SmallHD has a great screen but Im telling you the Ninja gives it a run for its money.

I am unable to activate ProRes Raw and H.265 which is my main purpose for even buying it. I scanned the code, registered on the site and the only available feature for my atomos ninja 2 (2023) is AVID Dnx , why? why isn't ProRes Raw and H.265 available for my device. And yes I am on the latest firmware update for my device which is 11.04.00, the button doesn't even work on the website to download the token for AVID DNx neither. I just get a email with the file and its just a readme with no token. What is really going on? and Atomos customer care is neither here or there. Highly dissapointed. This is outrageous. Can someone help me please.

Look, we know what this recording monitor is capable of doing because this is all that Atomos advertises but the setup process is arduous and cumbersome. I consider myself a fairly intelligent fellow but getting this thing to work has been the bane of my existence:1. Like one reviewer said there isn't an instruction manual so youtube is going to be your best friend here. But you'll have to find one that has your cam set up to figure out which settings are needed to be configured.2. It needed a firmware update immediately out of the box. The only way to do that is through an SSD and a specific cable. I initially was going to use it as a monitor but I wasn't able to do anything which means all I had was a $600 paperweight & another 2 days of waiting via amazon for an SSD.3. The set up took HOURS. Installing the firmware. Activating the tokens to use ProRes Raw. Cycling through numerous settings (tbf the Sony Menu screen is.... yeah lol) Then matching the settings on the Atomos.4. Then the record button got greyed out which means I had to go back and figure out what went wrong.5. This is just a nitpick but I don't like the way the npf batteries and ssd don't just line up on the back. The battery sticks out the back and the ssd on the side. Not really Atomos' fault but the proportions don't match the necessary equipment.Anywho it works, it looks great. But if you're not a pro user already familiar with the system, you're going to need a glass of whiskey and some jazz during set up.
