In many telescopes, that is only possible by using a star diagonal - which directs the image upwards by 45.This Astromania star diagonal has a 1.25" metal barrel. The chrome finish not only looks good, but is also practical, as the star diagonal always remains firmly attached to the focuser. The clamping screws lock the barrel firmly in place without scoring the nosepiece, as is the case with many cheaper products.

There are fine scratches on the prism. My guess from the installation at the manufacturer. Waiting for the weather to warm up to try it.

My wife was given a starter telescope for her birthday that came with cheap starter accessories. Among them was a cheap Erect Image 90° Diagonal that was just a mirror. This Erect Image 45° Diagonal Prism gives a much crisper image, has the correct orientation to what you see with the naked eye and the angle is more comfortable for viewing. I have a moon filter for viewing the full moon without it being too bright, and (after testing) I'm able to thread it onto this prism which was a huge selling point for me. I have tested all connections and combinations of my accessories including my 5x Barlow, which clears the receiving end without getting close to the prism. I love what I've seen so far from this prism and recommend it to any fellow amateur astronomy fan.
