What are mill ends?
Mill ends are the surplus fiber left over from the blending process that turns fiber into combed top roving. They are the same great quality as our regular fibers - just shorter pieces. Instead of wasting them, we gather and combine these many different fiber types and colors into surprise bags for adventurous spinners and felters. Choose from white or colorful assortment and let your creativity flow!

I would rate 5 if the wool I received wasn't full of little bits of dried grass. It has wonderful texture and color but picking out all those unwanted bits was a pain. Regardless I would still buy again.

I was looking for a variety of colors so I could make some smaller 2d ornaments. This wool is beautiful!! It feels so nice and the variety of colors are perfect for my use. I've made 2 ornaments so far and what a pleasure to use as this wool felts easily and quickly. Quality wool from ethically raised animals is expensive, but worth it. I believe this set is a very good value.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. Very soft, high quality fiber. More color variety than I expected. Beautiful colors and textures that complement each other. I was hesitant to purchase a variety pack, but I 100% trust this seller to make selections for me now. I will be purchasing this product again and again for my spinning needs. UPDATE: I ordered this for a second time, both the white and multi colored and was super happy with what I got. I received 5 substantial pieces of brightly colored combed top: pink, yellow, bright green, bright blue, and navy. I was able to use it to make some rainbow rolags for spinning.The white pack contained 6 different fibers, 4 in large amounts, 2 in small amounts. The one on the bottom left in the picture was strangely textured/clumped together in some places and had a tiny bit of vegetable matter, but it was easy to pick out. The small bright white was incredibly soft. These mostly ended up blended together with the colors to make pastel rainbows. I'm planning to use the yarn I make in a giant knit rainbow shawl.Very happy with this purchase! Recommended!ORIGINAL REVIEW:I ordered this because I'm trying to teach myself how to use a drop spindle and wanted to try some variety of fibers before I ordered a larger selection. Based on others' reviews I was expecting 5-8 different fibers, and several of them neutral... That's in line with what I received. I have 2 very large selections of grey and dark navy blue, 2 medium sized selections of bright blue and burgundy, and 1 small section of very soft pearly white (this is a different fiber or blend of fibers than the rest). Including the plastic bag, my scale said it weighed 220 grams... Very happy with that!Considering it's winter, I figured I would receive darker colors, which I did.Overall, I'm super excited to start working with these fibers. I think the value for the variety and amount is great! Now I just have to wait until my spindle arrives in the mail!

I didn’t know what to expect with this assorted color wool roving based on the mixed reviews for this item, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the variety inside! As a needle felter, I was hoping for a variety of rich tones to use in my projects. In this bag, I got a wide variety of earthy felt colors from browns to the full gamut of earthy jewel toned colors. All of these colors had some depth to them in that none were flat colors except for the undyed cream colored roving. The cream colored roving had a different texture than all the others but is extremely soft. The only color that I felt wasn’t represented was dark blue and of course I did not receive a gray or black. I’m 100% OK with this because I have lots of gray and black. It’s not as easy to come by the other color mixes that I actually did get in the set. I’m also thrilled at the sheer volume of each color. I know this is going to last me a long time, making gnomes and other woodland critters.I am perfectly pleased and I would recommend this to any needle felter!P.S. the wool also felts up beautifully!

I bought this product to use in a class I taught on circle weaving, and the quality not the fibers was exceptional! So soft and luxurious. My only "complaint" is lack of variety of colors. But for the quality and quantity, this was a good buy.

There was very little variety in this bag compared to the first that I ordered several months ago. I received a couple different fibers of about pencil roving thickness -- one group of pieces is coarse with a very long staple length, the other softer and silky; a few very short pieces of top roving; a tiny smidgen of something quite silky and lustrous; and the rest (the vast majority of the package) was a couple of large "clouds" of delightfully soft wool. I'm not dissatisfied, as the fiber is all clean and will be useful in my crafting projects. I was just hoping I'd get lucky with more assorted fiber blends rather than one giant quantity of plain wool and a few small extras of different fibers.
