This product exceeded my hopes and is wonderful. There is a very tiny amount of vegetable matter, but very small amount. It is soft, clean and very easy to dye. I will be buying more of it, and if it comes in the 13 or 20 pound options, then that is the size I will buy when the time comes. Thank you to the seller, whose shipping arrived several days before scheduled and in excellent condition. Very happy with this product, seller and purchase.

I was going to use is for stuffing plush animals, it’s perfect for it but it is such a high quality that I’m reconsidering the use in higher quality arts/crafts,. This is hands-down the most beautiful that I have seen or used, definitely the highest quality especially for the price. Supporting a small business is definitely a plus and the quantity that is stuffed into this bag is pretty surprising. Definitely would purchase again and definitely highly recommend.

First off, the seller is extremely responsive to inquiries and this shipped within an hour or two of me placing my order. Don’t let this not being Prime deter you! Especially with shipments typically taking longer than two days lately due to priority being given to emergency-type supplies, this arrived FASTER than Prime for me (2-3 days). (My Prime stuff has been closer to 1.5 weeks.) So A+ on shipping, Shep’s Wool!!I chose this based on sourcing of the wool and price, combined, with intent to use it inside homemade Waldorf dolls. I’m still working on my prototypes using cheaper cotton before making final products with wool, so my standards may be different than others. However, it looks to be uniform in color and smooth throughout. The texture is nice, and it’s the weight I paid for, so I’m happy! I will update the review if I find any issues while working my project, but so far, I couldn’t be happier, and I would definitely buy from this shop again.

Recently took up drop spindle spinning & wanted a large amount of wool to play with. One pound of roving is a lot of wool to spin & learn with. Lovely feel of the fibers in the hand. Single ply, sport-weight, woolen is “lofty” & “springy” to the touch. Haven’t progressed to the more advanced “plying” stage yet... or crocheting projects. Thoroughly enjoying the beginner spinning experience with this merino.Any oops & booboo spun yarn works up nicely in needle felting projects. I keep an “Oh... Felt It!” bag to save yarns that didn’t yarn. Something to keep in mind—the fiber isn’t “ruined” & certainly doesn’t go to waste. Thrilled to find an indy American business to support! Definitely will buy from Shep’s again.

Reasonable priced, superb quality and softness. Make sure you knead it with your hands wet to avoid shedding (this goes for all wool, not just this brand) to minimize future shedding. My daughter made the most exquisite chunky blanket that otherwise would've cost me 2-3 times more if bought over, say, Etsy... and she did it in about an hour! Already bought a second one for another chunky blanket, that was just delivered as I was writing this review. Did I mention speed of delivery?
