I’ve used this a lot since purchased. Cleans easily, cooks quickly, and doesn’t take up a lot of space. I wanted something simple and easy to use and this exceeded my expectations.

It's working great for us. a word of warning that you should always include the steaming tray while making rice, whether or not you're trying to steam food. We had bubbles coming out the hole that made a little mess the one time we tried without, but it hasn't made a mess as long as we use the steaming tray.

I read all the reviews before I bought this and many people said it boiled over and made a mess. I just finished cooking 3 cups of rice (which makes 6 cups cooked) and it was perfect. I did ask several friends who use rice cookers. You measure the rice. You wash the rice. You put the rice in the pot. Then add water to the correct line. I bet people who boiled over added the water first. It I really think we are gonna like this and probably eat more rice!!

Inexpensive and works well. It has a steam basket. So you can cook rice and steam a protein or veggies as the rice cooks.

We've been using this for several months now, and although I haven't had the opportunity to use its other features, it does the job of rice cooker very well. Exactly like the basic Walmart model I used to have, fill the scoop with water twice for every time you filled the scoop with rice, assemble and turn it on. It's easy, if I put the rice on before I start cutting veggies for stirfry then it's done before I am, and it the removable parts clean easily in the dishwasher. I only put the bowl on the top rack as I've seen a few reports of it warping, but the lid always goes on the bottom and the scoop/spoon go wherever they fit when I'm loading. Everything survives and comes clean easily! The only thing I would say to watchout for is spray during the cooking process. I'm used to some startchy rice water escaping through the vent hole in the lid on a ricecooker and I always set it on a kitchen towel anyway to avoid a mess on the counter, but this particular model requires me to use only my longest towels and arrange them strategically. The vent hole ejects stray rice water forward nearly a foot, and not only does this result in a messy counter, it stings when it gets you as you're cooking nearby!

I LOVE this rice cooker. First off, it's freaking adorable. I keep it on my counter because it seriously gives me the warm fuzzies. I am a single person and spent a long time searching for something affordable and not for a family of 12.I've used it at least once every single day for the past 4 months for my morning oatmeal. It's so nice and easy to press the button and go shower or whatever. In regards to the bottom sticking issue, I have recently found waiting about 10 minutes after it clicks to 'warm' lets the bottom layer cool off and moisten so it easily releases with the included paddle. For rice it works great. Follow the instructions and everything will be okay. Allow it to rest after it switches to warm for super easy to scrape results. If you are super hungry, open right away and devour scrumptious rice. Let bottom layer soak in sink, it will clean right off. Yes, if you make larger quantities, molten hot water squirts everywhere. This does not bother me, I simply wipe it up.The steamer works like a charm. I usually just put water in the bottom and veggies in the top. If you are some kind of kitchen timing savant, go ahead and put rice in the bottom and then poach salmon and steam asparagus spears in the top so they are all done at the same time. This is a simple unit that brings whatever inside to a medium boil and then flips to warm when most of the water is evaporated because it gets hotter and triggers the thingy inside to pop. Keep adding water and it will go forever. Do with this what you will. It will take a little practice to get things the way you like them, like with any appliance.I religiously use plastic only for cooking and cleaning and the teflon coating is still good as new.For the price this is a really good buy. I recommend this product! :D

I probably will be able to come back and give this little gem an extra star after I have learned its ways. This is my first (EVER) experience with a rice cooker and with my brother's help (on the phone guiding me all the way) I chose this one as being about the right size for our needs and close enough to his 15 year old "National" (Panasonic) in looks, features, and response of reviewers. It is a darling size. It fits nicely in the cupboard with the rest of the pots and pans (which is a plus as we have way too many electrical appliances on the counters.) I suspect, though, that I may find it is a little small for our needs, but for the oddest of reasons. It actually makes plenty of rice for our needs, and in the end, it came out beautifully. But what a MESS getting there. It boiled over and some of its water/moisture ended up on the counter and on the lid. Some splashed all over other appliances on the counter. Since I got this in the hopes that it would be not only less mess, but, a set-it-and-leave-it arrangement, this was distressing to me. After it's little tantrum it was harder to clean up than having to stand over my gas stove to keep my rice from boiling over LOL.This little rice cooker is a 3 cup UNCOOKED (6 cup cooked) unit and I started ONLY with 1.5 Cups of uncooked rice. By my calculations I should have had NO problems! ... HOWEVER ... Let's rephrase this a little, because, to my ASTONISHMENT people don't seem to even NOTICE (let alone feel entirely miss-lead) that 1 cup (to the rice cooker) does not equal 1 cup... •••• 1 Cup = 3/4 Cup •••• Yes, that is right, the little measuring device which comes with it, is NOT a WHOLE CUP, but 3/4 of a cup. Still, I used their little cup and placed its contents in a larger glass measuring cup so that I could rinse off the rice, and thus, I know that I started with 1.5 Cups of rinsed rice :) Well below the (max) 2.25 cups that the cooker will accommodate.OK, now that we have the measurements understood, here it is "rephrased:"The MAXIMUM amount of (UNCOOKED) rice the the rice cooker holds is:... 2 1/4 Cups (2.25 Cups)•••• The amount of uncooked (rinsed) basmati rice I placed in the cooker: ... 1 1/2 Cups (1.50 Cups)•••• The amount of water I added to the uncooked rice in the rice cooker ... 2 1/2 Cups (2.50 Cups) (This is less than 2 x the water and slightly more than 1.5 x)There SHOULD have been PLENTY of room for the expansion of the rice (which there was) but the boiling process made the water escape the pot which would indicate that there was too much water for the size of the pot. Since there was fully 3/4 of a cup LESS (uncooked) RICE than the rice cooker could potentially handle, I dread to think what my kitchen would have looked like had I decided to cook a greater amount of rice!! LOLOn the OTHER HAND... even though about 1/4 cup of water escaped, the rice seemed not to suffer for it. So, NEXT time, I will try a little less rice, and a ratio of water that is closer to the 1.5 x rule of thumb that I have always used until these newer pots with the thick bottoms required more water so as not to burn the rice... :) Hence my statement above that I might be able to come back and adjust the number of stars... :)The rice was AWESOME; was not sticky; nice an fluffy. The pot cleaned up well (except the lid was a little difficult, but I waited too long before trying... I should have soaked it right away.)I would recommend this little unit, but only if you are a one cup of rice at a time cooker :) (for two people, maybe.) If I figure out what the water ratio is for different rices, I will come back and amend this.

I'm loving this tiny little rice cooker! I used to have a microwave cooker and it was pretty inconsistant when it cooked the rice; most of the time it would be undercooked and it always made a huge mess in the microwave. So I decided to try out this cheap, highly rated rice cooker and I'm so glad that I did. I usually only cook for two people, so I make about .5-1 cup of rice (uncooked). There is plenty of room to cook another cup or two, making this cooker ideal for feeding 1-4 people. It's small, so it takes up very little space on my counter, and the small size also makes it easier to clean. It takes about 15 minutes to make the perfect rice. I took the advice of other reviewers and used a bit more water than the instructions called for. This is definitely the way to go. The recommended water is not quite enough, but it is easy to figure out the correct amount (only took me two times to get it right, and even when it wasn't right, the rice was still decent). I also took the advice from people saying to turn it off when it is done cooking. I have not tried leaving it on yet, so I'm not sure if that would ruin the rice or not. Now my favorite part.... the steamer!!!! I love steamed vegatables, and now I can steam them at the same time that my rice cooks!! I was skeptical at first.... but I tried some carrots and broccoli in there the first time I used it, and they were steamed to perfection! What a great idea! It's less work, less dishes to clean, and it steams it perfectly.I would recommend this for anyone who wants a cheap but fantastic little rice cooker. Great for singles or small families. Cooking the rice is very quick and easy with minimal work, and cleaning the cooker is quite easy as well (no burnt stuff on the sides that would require scrubbing or soaking). And let's face it.... the price is hard to beat!UPDATE: I've been using this cooker for about a year now. I have seen no decrease in performance since I bought it. I use it about twice a week, and it is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. To elaborate on the first review I left.... yes, leaving it on the "warm" setting after the rice has finished cooking will dry it out a bit. Just unplug it once it has finished cooking, or just eat it right away. If you insist on keeping it on the "warm" setting, add 2-3 more oz of water at the start. I have also tried many veggies in the steamer, and they all turn out great! Carrots, beans, broccoli, peppers, peas, corn, cauliflour, the list goes on. And all of them turn out so well. I will use this thing until it breaks!
