Bought it for a gift and they love it. The rice is cooked to perfection every time. There is no dark rice on the bottom as other rice cookers do. It is a good purchase if you eat rice regularly and enjoy a perfectly cooked rice. I would give it 5 stars but it is a bit pricey.

I’m very pleased with this rice cooker. I needed one that has a setting for brown rice and I like the Aroma brand, so this seemed to fit the bill. It’s really easy to use and I especially like the heavy weight of the cooking pot. I know the rice will be evenly cooked. Some cookers have a flimsy inside pot that easily burns or peels. This is quality. I took a chance and ordered one that was ‘used’ but it was just like new and works flawlessly. It looks great on the counter, too.

First off outstanding value: makes exceptional rice.couple things: First, has delayed start response, it's just odd. plugged in, no visual clues it's on, open lid / close lid, touch buttons, hover over buttons, no response, this goes on for awhile, even after getting use to this quirk, but it's less than 30 seconds, probably more like 15 or 20, but just odd, than magically it comes to life, just weird, especially since there is no indication it's functioning.Second thing, the warm function is not optional. That is an issue because it starts to scorch the rice. So, rather than toss it in the river, pull the inner pot out once it's done, put on an oven mitt or whatever and lid it, it will keep warm by itself for quite awhile. So, beyond those two issues it is / makes the most perfect rice. Has great features, removable lid, extremely heavy duty cooking pot.

After my Zojirushi rice cooker bite the dust, I decided to get a different rice cooker that wasn't as expensive. The Aroma seems to take longer to heat up the water to cook the rice, but it does a fantastic job of cooking the rice. The rice seems to be fluffier, probably because the rice pan is slightly wider than other brands and the rice does not stick to the pan and cleans super easy. There are two things that Aroma got wrong, 1) is the minuscule instructions on the machine, which is bead if you are a senior or need reading reading glasses, so be warned. 2) the cup indentation markings on side of the black pan is very hard to see, unlike the grey pans used by other makers.

Easy to use, easy to clean & does what it's supposed to do, right out of the box.A small learning curve, but we're good!

It's a good appliance, overall, but when I open the lid, water runs down the back of the machine onto the countertop. I believe other models have a compartment for capturing that runoff but not this one.

Unlike other reviewers here, I Have NEVER had any issues with this product. I had mine for over 3 years, used it almost every day for just about everything, such as baking cakes, cooking brown rice, etc, etc, and it never once failed me. The only reason I got rid of my older one is that the white one looked bad in my kitchen. I never knew that Aroma made a Stainless Steel Version, so once I found this one, I donated my old white Plastic One To a Friend, and Ordered this one, just because it looked better in my kitchen. Absolutely love the Cake Baking Cycle, as I have never been able to bake a Cake in a Conventional Oven without it turning into a Disaster Area. This thing has always made me PERFECT Cake without the mess. Not to mention that it makes the most tasty Brown Rice I have ever had, other than restraunt made. And Yes, the Instruction Book / Recipe Manual IS YOUR FRIEND when using this thing.

I was very happy with my old Aroma rice cooker and I wanted to try a different brand. After long research and review reading I decided to by the Aroma brand again but a different model. My inner pan in the old Aroma rice cooker was not doing so well. I would get burnt rice in the bottom. But this is of 5 years of use almost every other day. The first thing I noticed is the heavy and solid inner pan. I don't think they are dishes washer safe. That's how I ruined my first inner pan. The results were outstanding from the first time I cooked rice with my new Aroma rice cooker. The rice was perfect and and ready in probably 20 mins for two cups of rice. I never used the keep warm feature and we made rice fresh when ever we needed. There are more expensive rice cooker out there but I don't know what else they would offer. There is slow cooking option, delay timer but I know for sure that I will not be using them. Very good product and inwould recommended to purchase. I am Asian and I grew eating rice all my life. So I am an rice expert :)

This is the most expensive rice cooker I have bought (family has a Zojirushi that I used daily at one point) and it's honestly the worst I have used. The rice take about twice longer than less sophisticated rice cooker to cook, the rice has a tendency to dry out when in "keep warm" mode, and most annoying of them all. This rice cooker doesn't have one of those steam water catcher thing at the back when it badly need one. EVERYTIME I cook rice in this thing (usually 2 or 3 cups) and lift the lid, all the steam water on the lid would just drip down the back side and pool in the area behind the pot (I will add a picture later). The pooled water has nowhere to go and requires me to wipe it with a towel every time. This is really an unacceptable design problem from something this expensive. I mean I can explain away why rice isn't staying warm well because it might be complicated to heat rice evenly after cooking. But the lack of a steam water catcher seems like just lack of common sense or beta testing of the product and seems inexcusable. I would return this item but I cannot justify paying 1/5 of the item's price to do so. I will live with this for the meantime but this is going to be one of my daily items that I hope break sooner rather than later so I can just get a cheaper standard Aroma or a Zojirushi. Because either, and heck a $15 Oyster is probably going to be better than this.
