I bought what I thought was an expensive home office chair during lockdown. I figured it would outlast me, and if I am going to be stuck in front of a video screen, I might as well be comfy. Absolutely no complaints on the comfort, but within a year, the right pad started to degrade. A couple of days ago, I was contemplating throwing it in a skip but did a search on the off chance I could find a solution, which led me to this product. All you really need to know is the original shouldn’t have degraded as fast (as the photo shows), and the replacements take the chair back to ‘as new’ (as the photo shows) v happy with the solution !

Visibly the arm pad was different. Still I disassembled the chair to see if it fit any other way, but it did not. There is no way it fits and no way it is a replacement pad for that chair. Quite different in size and also in width with the screw holes in a different place. The ones in black are the ones bought, the one in grey is the original.

The left arm cap on my Sayl snapped off at the end so I needed a replacement. These have done the trick. They are marginally shorter than the originals but are a similar width and height. They feel very similar to the originals in that they are a softish plastic. If someone had replaced them for me, I would never have known the difference from the original which is a good thing. To fit these is pretty simple. The arm caps are held on by a Torx T20 screw. You unscrew that, pop the original cap off, replace it with the new one then put the screw back in. Easy.

I was considering replacing my entire chair due to the arm pads starting to fall apart. So glad I found these instead! They were easy to install and fit perfectly. You do need a star bit for the screwdriver but I was able to find one in our basic drill kit.

These new replacement pads were a perfect fit the chair . They are just minimally shorter than originals but that makes them less likely to crack at the front of the pad like the originals. One torx screw on each pad is all it takes to make the change. Literally it took me longer to unwrap these pads than it took to install. These things come heavy wrapped so they were in great shape upon arrival. Not a cheap replacement for a good price. Arrived on time and placed in the mail box. Did not come in a box.

For the price and availability, it’s amazing and easy to install. The size of the pad itself is about a half inch smaller than the Herman Miller pads, but the actual installation portion of the pads is a perfect fit.

The reviews are accurate - this fits my sayl but it is smaller and harder than the original armrests. Difficult to say how durable they will be in the long run but given the purchase price, I'm happy with what I received for the price.

Overall, the replacement parts are fairly comparable to OEM arm rests and for a lower price.Additional notes:- The foam / material on the OEM is slightly softer, but it is still comfortable.- OEM arm rest is just slightly larger, but its barely noticeable (see pictures).- Repair is easy, takes about 30 seconds each side. Arm rests are affixed by a single screw at the back of the arm rest. You will need a torx screwdriver.
