When using a tree as an anchor point in a recovery situation, wrapping cable, rope or chain around it causes damage to both your equipment and the tree. This means next time you may not have a viable anchor point for recovery. Designed primarily to protect a tree from ringbarking, the tree trunk protector can be used to connect a winch rope to almost any anchor point, ensure that it is capable of withstanding the load.

Make sure the tree is well rooted and try not to place shock loads upon it, as it may be possible to uproot the tree, in turn causing damage to the vehicle or serious injury.

Never wrap a winch cable around a tree. Instead use an ARB tree trunk protector to prevent damage to the tree and to your cable. Persons intending to use the strap must ensure that the strap is not damaged and in usable condition. The strap’s strength is reduced when the strap is saturated.

Been eyeing to add one of these to my recovery kit for my rig. Hope I never have to use it but need that extra security. Always a fan of ARB products. Fast shipping and very good price for a quality product. Would buy again.

This ARB ARB735US 3" x 16' Tree Saver Strap works great for pulling smaller trees with a garden tractor. Also it is just comfortable as a substitute for a rope in pulling small trees by hand as they are being cut. The Petzl William Locking Carabiner can be used to connect several of these together to provide greater length. The carabiners are light and strong by the way, and can be found on Amazon.April 2016 -Also the ARB ARB720 2-1/8" x 60' Winch Extension Strap - 9900 lbs Capacity has worked great for pulling smaller, Tall trees by hand and keeping the pullers out of the way of the falling tree. It is much more comfortable and pullable than a rope. I just ordered a second one.

I have owned 3 ARB 3" x 10' tree straps for years, used heavily. they are the best in the recovery market space. They are a fixture in the boot of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Too often I have to link two together for length. When I saw that ARB added a 16' strap, and Amazon had the best price, it was a no brainier. The strap is getting its inaugral use this Columbus Day weekend in Maine for our firewood harvest with a pulley block. Thank-you ARB and Amazon. Today's score is Dr Johns 1, Big White Birch 1. The sudden death contest will be tomorrow. Husky and I have planed well, and we are not worried! :-)

I've never had an issue with any ARB products and this is no exception. People always remark on how beefy it looks and I'm happy to tell them that is works just as good as it looks. I love ARB products and I don't mind spending the extra money on quality that always gets me home.

Very happy with this. Have used it to help clear trails of fallen trees without damaging the living trees we're using as an anchor. No sign of wear and tear, coils nice, and cleans up well in the washing machine on delicate cycle.
