I have been obsessively testing the water (several times a day) because it’s a new tank, all of the test strips have come out beautiful other than some high ph. This morning I woke up to 2 of my fish acting strange - lethargic, laying on their side but would swim away erratically if nudged. Of course I tested the water immediately, again the strip came out beautiful. Later in the day I unfortunately lost one of the fish and the other one this evening. I took the fish to my LFS as they offer a refund if the fish passes within 30 days as long as you bring a sample of the tank water they can test and it shows that the water parameters are within normal limits. They preformed the test in front of me and I began balling my eyes out when I saw there was high nitrites and nitrates. These test strips showed 0. I went and bought the API master test kit and tested my water. The one thing that these test strips showed me was that the pH was high, on the API test kit it was the only thing normal. Please if you are going to spend money on a test just spend a little bit extra money and time for something accurate so you aren’t unknowingly killing your fish.I did a good water change and I’m monitoring my other guys closely but I am truly heart broken over this.

I have three aquariums and I like to do occasional water checks, so test strips are somewhat of a hot commodity for me. Pet stores absolutely price gouge them, and after a while of that I found these for roughly half the price and triple the quantity.Tested them out (Pics above) and they worked just the same as any other strip would except for a couple extra squares that, while I think is cool to have, I'm likely never going to use. Cross referenced the readings with other strips, so these are just as accurate as any other test strips. What I like the most about this, though, is the price and the color chart.Starting with the color chart, other containers I've used have their color chart behind a layer you have to peel back in order to see it, so I shed tears of joy when I saw that this product has the chart easily visible without having to mess with anything. The chart also has very bold and clear markings around the safe areas. I've never had any trouble seeing the markings on other ones I've used, but it's a noticable improvement even to me. It might seem niche, but I can imagine if someone has vision struggles this could help with avoiding to strain their eyes. Now boy howdy, this price had me weeping like Jesus Christ just cured me of leprosy. The pet stores had fooled me into believing that theirs were only 'slightly' expensive at ~$20 for 30 strips. And then I thought I was getting away with HIGHWAY ROBBERY when I found a place that sold 30 for $13. Lo and behold, I find good quality test strips for the same price that I had thought was absolute bottom dollar, and it has more than triple the quantity! I don't know who Mr./Mrs. JNW Direct is, but I've named one of my fish JNW Jr. and I'm naming you as his godfather. So! Overall. Bad news is, I've got a nitrate problem. Good news is, after saving all this money, I'm a man who feels like a freshly made millionaire with a nitrate problem. This must be what it feels like to cry in a Lamborghini. 5/5 Stars.

These are not good test strips. They seem to skimp on The reagent and the color is so light. It’s hard to read. I can barely tell the difference between water from the tap, freshly filtered water, and tank water that needs to be changed. However inexpensive these are, they are overpriced for the quality. Stick to an actual brand – one that cares about your repeat business.

I bought these for my fish keeping husband to use on his fish tanks. He's really picky about his fish equipment and likes to stick with specific brands in his aquarium keeping. However seeing how much brand name test strips were we decided to try these as a cheaper alternative. My husband ended up liking these more than the brand specific ones he was using before. Not only are they a better price but they work well and do testing on nearly double of the components his old test strips tested. Would definitely recommend and will buy again when we're ready to replenish our stash.

These are very handy & great, they’re very simple to use and inexpensive. Most other brands it costs you an arm and a leg almost for like 5 uses max. Great amount for the value.

These are a very good product for the price. I'm not sure out accurate they are but they're a fast and easy way to figure out your water quality.

After reading reviews on test strips I decided on these. They tested the majority of what I needed and the reviews were decent. First, I tested all five of my aquariums and they seemed to be accurate compared to my API master test. Then I tested my tap water just for comparison. Everything there seemed to be good, other than the Ph.My tap water has a Ph ranging from 9.5 to 10.3 according to my water company. When I test my tap water with my API master kit it shows the highest possible results. On these strips, my tap only shows slightly higher than my tanks and even the results for my tanks is inaccurate. In the photo, the first strip is my tank water. It shows a Ph of 6.2 but the actual Ph is 7.4. The second strip is my tap water. It shows a Ph around 6.8 (possibly 7.2) but my actual Ph is at least 9.0. I mainly got these as a quick way to check my nitrates and that does appear to be accurate so they will serve their purpose, but you might not want to rely on them for Ph results.

Not sure if it is accurate. I’ve use test strip from other brand together with the old fashioned drop test kit. The nitrate reading is either far off or the colour difference is so shuttle that I cannot tell them a part. Definitely won't buy again.
