Fit a 20 gal tall tank perfectly. Love the stepped mount that holds the light right where you need it and up off the top.

UPDATE: the company reached out and offered me a full refund. Thank youThis is the second light I’ve bought because I really enjoy the concept and the light is bright. But this is the second one I’ve purchased that gets condensation inside and shorts out. Would not recommend

I am really inpressed with this LED light. I had an old Perfecto fluorescent light on a 20 gallon fish tank. Initially I was just planning to purchase a new replacement fluorescent bulb but then I realized the cost had come down so much on LED lighting and aquired this for perhaps the cost of one to 2 fluorescent bulbs. It is very easy to assemble and you can plug it into a cheap indoor timer to give it the ability to turn on and off on automatically. The cost for the timer and the light was around $23. Heat from the LED light is noticeably less than from the fluorescent, and no hassles with the infamous flicker that fluorescent bulbs suffer as they age. Also, the colors of my fish and aquarium decor are noticeably more vibrant than under the fluorescent light. Doesn't quite cover entire tank width but seems to provide ample and excellent lighting. Here's some pics comparing the light differences.

Great light at a great price. I have 2 of these on 10 gallon tanks, both hooked to wifi smart plugs for timing control. I like that these have a simple on/off switch rather than a controller. I have absolutely no desire for an inline controller with multiple settings. I simply want a simple light that puts off good light quality, which this light does. My only criticism is that the legs do not have a way to lock them into position, and slide very easily. This can be a pain at times. A bit of glue in the channels however solves this issue without being noticeable. I would gladly pay a couple more dollars for there to be set screws to accomplish this.

When the florescent aquarium light failed, I was looking for a replacement tube. But, I was wary, as reviews on replacement florescent tubes were just so-so. The other concern I had was the hood always was damp inside the fixture.. moisture waa always there. I saw this relatively inexpensive LED aquarium light on Amazon. The open design would mean no moisture condensing underneath the hood. The price was right, not much more than the cost of a couple of florescent tubes, and much better reviews. So, I purchased one. The results have been excellent. The LED light is bright, and no condensation, forming on and around the light, due to its open design. The new light slipped right over the aquarium cover, I adjusted it to fit, and plugged it in. Immediately the light came on, and waa bright, and even, just what I wanted. The only problem I've has, just a minor one, really is that the switch ended up in a poor, hard to reach area. This problem can be solved with an extension cord, so not a real game changer. When the other florescent aquarium light I have fails, I will be back for another one of these. Low up front costs, and lower electricity use due to the fact its LED, means lower costs over the long haul. Five Big Stars all around.

I had been using an old zoo med reptile light I used to use for my late bearded dragon. It was getting ruined by the constant splashing of water from my filter, so I decided to purchase this when it was on sale. I think it's probably worth the sale price, but I'm not sure if I would pay over $20 for it. I like the full spectrum lights, the water marks from the splashing of the filter are easy to wipe off and I'm definitely not worried about it getting ruined. I also really appreciated the fact that this product does NOT come with a built-in timer. I have my own timer system, so it was easy to just plug this in, and it's controlled separately. The only thing that I didn't really like about this was how cheap the bracket things are that hold the light up. I understand there isn't a lot of weight to hold up, but they are flimsy and pull out really easily. I have a 20-gallon tank, so I had to pull them out pretty far; a few times I pulled too much not expecting it to just fly out, and almost dropped the light in the water. Like everything is fantastic, but they couldn't take it one step further.
