Still early days of owning but it is working how my wife wanted it to and the fish seem to prefer it with the dawn and dusk setting and the plants look like the brighter light is making them head for it.

Hands off efficient and excellent grow light. Well worth the money 24/7 mode is awesome, set and forget about messing with it again. Fish love the sunrise to sunset to night mode and the best is it turns itself off and back on every day! My plants are growing to fast.

I purchased the 48-54 inch model and it fits perfectly over a 55-gallon long tank, a common standard the aquarium industry. I highly recommend this, especially if you are currently using the legacy fluorescent bulbs over the top of your aquarium now. With full-spectrum LED lighting, the colors in my tank now appears much more vibrant over the previous fluorescent setup I employed previously. I use the 24/7 lighting option, which manages the lighting from dim and red light at the crack of dawn, until the light becomes brighter and more vibrant until the peak brightness of midday. Then, late in the afternoon the lighting ramps back down again until post-sunset, when the light becomes blue for an hour or two before switching off again at night. This really is nice and wasn't possible in a single lighting system until full-spectrum LEDs became the standard. This product isn't perfect. The lack of custom time setting options, a digital clock or color wheel found in some of the more expensive LED products make the configuration options somewhat more limited, non-intuitive and difficult, without the use of the instruction manual.Still, I think there is tremendous value here for the money, especially if you're looking to dip your toes into the LED lighting world for your aquarium. I love it and won't go back.

While it's not cheap, this is an excellent aquarium light. There are about nine different color option settings for a full range to grow the best plants. I like that one can set a period for the light to be on as well. The instructions are relatively simple as is the setup. Another benefit is that it sits just above the aquarium so as not to glare at people trying to look at the tank. Other than price, I can't think of any negative aspects of this light.I do recommend it for low-tech maintenance setups and reasonable energy use.

I am very happy with this light. The amount of light and features with this light at an affordable price has made this my new favorite. It is a very bright light with a simple 4 button control. Preprogrammed with different light color options, a 24/7 daylight option (which I love), light intensity control, and a basic timer that does 4,10 or 12 hrs of light. For the price that is a great amount of light options. I love the low profile it has on the tank almost like it's not even there. The written directions were hard for me to follow when it came to setting the timer options (in all fairness that could just be me), but with a quick Google search I found a video and setting is actually quite easy. It is sturdy and well built. I will be buying this light again because there is no such thing as to many tanks.

I am not new to fish-keeping, but I am to planted aquariums. After extensive research I concluded that these Hygger lights are perfect for my needs, but also not out of my budget. My freshwater community is happy with the day light synthesis timer, where the light goes through several phases that replicates a full day. This way, I do not have to turn lights on and off, or worry about it being too much or too little light. None of my plants have been burnt due to too high lighting, nore had any issues of being under-lit. IT includes all of the color wavelengths and has several different settings for whatever your set-up requires.

So far this is an amazing light. The price was great. The amount of settings are incredible for such a simple design. I absolutely love the look of it!! This light is very slim and is almost impossible to see if I am sitting on the couch or from across the room. It would also look amazing on theme tanks and that type of décor where there are no plants, but has colorful décor items. (great nightlight for kids room?...lol).The Full Spectrum is the perfect amount of light for my 26" tall tank.I am not sure if plants that require supper bright lights will like it but IMO the med light plants should do great. (I had 2 - 18,000k t5s on my tank prior and it was way to bright). It only took 30 minutes and My German Blue Rams have already come out of hiding. The instructions were simple...unless you are me...lol. I kept thinking that the 8:00,10:00,12:00,15:00,18:00,22:00 was the hours that you can set it for a timer.... it is not...lol. It is the 6 timer points that you can set the local time at. So if you want the light on at 6am then you must set it at one of these timer points. If you want it on at 5 then set it at 7,9,11,2,5,9 instead or if you want it to come on at 7am then at 9,11,1,4,7,11. Anyways you get the point. As soon as you set the time for your local time, then the 24/7 gradient light should be set to come on at 6am. (I will have to get back to you on if it is and what it is like.)To my knowledge from what I understand of all my research on this light, The 24/7 schedule should go like this....from 6am to 8am it is a gradient orange sunrise until its brightest point.from 8am to 6pm it is day time with a gradient white until it is at its brightest then slowly starts to go down... (I am assuming with blue mixed in as it starts to change)from 6pm to 10:30pm it is moonlight and should go from a brighter to darker blue.I will update this as soon as I get a feel for this light. I will let you know if the light actually does as advertised. So far it looks very promising.(UPDATE)When set perfectly on time my light did not shut off completely until around 10:50pm (not 10:30pm as the booklet states), but it did start on time at 6:00am.I love that this light comes on slowly and that it brightens to full spectrum during the day and then starts to dim in the evening. This light dims very slowly and comes on very slowly, It should NOT startle your fish. "My GBR are out a lot more now".If I had to change anything it would be that it was to have a battery backup so if the power flickers off at night and then comes back on that your settings would be saved and the cycle from 6am on until completely off at 10:50pm seems too long "for our household". The 12hr timer is too short. I believe that if they were to change the 6-10-12hr to include an 8 & 14 hour that it truly would be completely perfect for everyone. My prior lights were way to bright and I think that is why my water wisteria plants were not doing to well (even with flourish excel and flourish iron).I will give another update later on about how my plants are doing.

Bought this for my 3ft goldfish tank, and noticed leaving the lights at 100% intensity was waaay too bright. I reduced them to 50% level, for 10hrs a day, but still got algae growing on the sides and bottom of the tank in only a couple weeks.Have now reduced to 25% intensity and hoping this will fix the algae issue. Another thing is that the timer can only be set for 6hrs, 10 hrs or 12 hrs…these times are really not ideal..an 8hr setting on the timer would be perfect, as 6hrs is too little for most plant life but 10ths or 12 is way too much light ( and hence the algae problem I described). In nature, plants do not get 12hrs daylight in any case, so why they even programmed this on the timer is beyond me. Would give it 5 stars otherwise.

The light I replaced was an older Hygger light. It worked ok, wasn't full spectrum but enough to grow low tech plants. It had a manual dimmer and brightness function. I had to babysit this through the day. I then saw this newer version, but kept using my older one. Flash forward to a month or so ago. I got tired of manually operating my light, so I upgraded. I am so glad I did.I only use the 24/7 function on this light because it's great and does what I need it to do. The set color combinations are excellent and it shows off the colors in my tank and my livestock. Towards the late night hours when the lights become predominantly blue, my night owls come out and I can actually enjoy seeing them in action. Best of all, it shuts itself off and then back on in the morning! I have to say with this upgraded light compared to the older model, my plants are growing bigger, healthier and look happier. Now for the lower cost of this light compared to others, there are some caveats... the 24/7 light feature is set as is. You can't change the time length, light intensity or colors. It's set in stone. You have to live with it. The only thing you can adjust, and through trickery, is the on and off time. The attached controller has set times on how to do this. So for example, if you want to set the light to stay on an hour later, the controller has 8 am, I would hit the 8 am setting at my current 9 am. If you want the light to go off an hour earlier, than you would set it an hour earlier than what the controller says. This however will still offset the ON time +/- whatever time you choose. Also the instructions and this listing says the set stock time of lights off is 22:30 but in actuality, the light does not turn off for another 20 minutes. 22:30 sets it to the final stage before shut off. The controller unfortunately does not have memory. If you experience power failure or cut power to the light, then you have to manually set your light timing again.. it's a little of a pain trying to remember the instructions or having to wait for the proper offset time (if needed). The legs on this unit.. you only get the short option. I really wanted my light higher from the top of my tank. The old Hygger had the option of 2 different set of legs. One was a little bit higher. I had to rig something up to do that, but it's still not really where I wanted it to be.Even with those caveats, the 24/7 feature works great for me, but I can see it not working for everyone. Especially if you don't have a planted tank. The length of lighting might be too much and might be an issue for me if I didn't have floating plants to block/absorb some of the light. However currently, this automated light has made my life much easier and gives me more enjoyment from my tank looking at all the vibrant colors.
