I bought these for general use in my home microscopy lab. They do just what I need them to do.

General performance and finish are acceptable, but the tips of the hemostats didn’t align perfectly and weren’t fully closed until after the first lock (which makes them much more awkward to use).

The curved and the straight forceps are both good quality. I've used similar ones in a medical setting. While they are not the top, top quality of chromed steel to be sterilized repeatedly, however if one want's that quality, then that's a step or two above these in price as well as quality. The straight pair can clamp almost 1.5", and the curved can clamp about 1 1/4." The straight can easily grab a splinter or a hair from the arm at the tip of the forceps. The rounded one can't grasp a hair, however they are fine for most anything else. Perhaps another pair would grab a hair. Both pair lock and unlock easily.I'm not about to leave them wet to see if they rust.
